This came in handy during the summer months. We don't have a lot of super hot days around here but this definitely came in handy when the time came. It doesn't cool a huge space but it did the job for what I needed. I kept it in the living room which is where I spent most of my time. In addition to cooling off the living room, it also cooled off the attached kitchen and adjoining hallway. It was very easy to install. My windows slide so I just measured the window height and then adjusted the height of the window mount and I was all set. It comes with a remote for adjusting the temp and power, which is very convenient. The design is somewhat slim so it doesn't take up a lot of space.     • Unit is faulty. Stuck in "full tank" mode on first use

It seems the unit I received is faulty. The first time I tried using it, the display read, "Ft," which, according to the manual, indicates a full tank. The tank referred to is that which holds water that has condensed during operation of the unit, which must from time to time be drained off. Since I'd never used the unit, however, there is no reason the tank should have any water in it at all. Indeed, when I opened the plug that allows water to drain from the tank, just to be sure, nothing came out, and the "full tank" code did not go away. When the "full tank" code has been thrown, the unit automatically shuts off after a minute or so. For that minute of operation that I did have, I also did not notice any difference in how the air coming out of the unit felt when in A/C mode compared to how it felt in fan-only mode, which also suggests that for one reason or another the A/C might not be working either. (Perhaps that's intentional on the part of the onboard computer when the "full tank" code is thrown. I don't know.) I ordered this unit because it had a quick delivery time and I was feeling desperate in the midst of a heatwave. That was a mistake. Based on my own experience, and that which others have reported via their reviews, it seems that perhaps this isn't a very high-quality unit. I will try a name brand next time. The bright spot in the experience is that the seller was willing to grant me a refund, without my having to return that unit. That spared me a lot of trouble, and I'm grateful. So I guess, if you want to try your luck with one of these units, you can at least take comfort in the thought that you'll probably be able to get a refund if it doesn't work out. I do wonder if the unit can be repaired by adjusting or replacing the sensor that is supposed to indicate when the tank is full. I offered up the unit for free to someone who wanted to try to repair it, and found a taker in short order. Wish them luck! ... show more

    • Can't figure out how to drain the tank.

I only gave it 3 stars because we can not figure out how to drain the tank when it's filled. I've unplugged the bottom part where supposedly it drains from but nothing comes out and I can hear water in the tank. It keeps shutting off, I'm assuming due to it being filled. So I'm trying to find a way to get a hold of them to find out if maybe I'm not doing it right. Other than that it cools my kids room very good. Hopefully I can figure this out asap since we are going through another heat wave starting tomorrow. 😔😔 ... show more
