This chair is everything I expected. It lays flat and the back and footrest are independently adjustable. Mine is the emerald green and it feels soft and velvety. The chair looks gorgeous. There is a decent amount of cushion, but I do use a thin memory foam pad for extra cushioning behind my back. I slept in the chair for six months following sternum surgery, and it is plenty comfortable. The chair has developed a bit of a creek while reclining, but I think it’s only an actuator that needs a bit of grease. My impression after six months is that it’s solid and should last a good long time. I haven’t had any experience with Mcombo customer service, so I can’t speak to that. But they do offer a solid product that is worth the price. ... show more

A friend of mine who is a physical therapist recommended I buy a power lift chair prior to my open heart surgery. I ordered this chair and it arrived the following day. My petite adult daughter assembled the chair for me with no difficulty. (It arrived in two boxes.) The pieces are a base, two sides and a back. No tools were required for assembly. The chair is extremely comfortable. It can recline completely if you wanted to sleep. Unlike other recliners, the headrest is adjustable avoiding the pushing your head too far forward of other chairs. It does a good job of lifting you to a near standing position. When I complete my recovery I will be giving the chair to my 97 year old mother. The price was comparable to a long rental period locally. ... show more

This is my third power lift recliner. The first (expensive) had several mechanical issues and finally quit. Bought a MCombo Lay Flat from another vendor; did not realize there was a manufacturing defect in the contoller until it quit. However I liked the chair so much I bought this one to replace it. Love the adjustable head rest. It is comfortable for long stretches of time; supports 300+ lb without sagging. Upholstery is very durable--the first one still looked like new after three years of constant use. USB connection is convenient. No battery backup which could be a problem in susceptible areas. It’s heavy, probably going to need help. My son put it together for me . I like how firm the chair is. Little slower than my old chair. As it’s lifting me up it can be a little wobbly, but it’s not really a concern. Overall great chair!!!

    • Worst Piece of Furniture I Ever Bought

This was for my disabled wife. She is five feet four inches and weighs 103 pounds. So it isn't as though the chair was overloaded or abused. After about six months, the chair makes squeaks and fast clicking noises every time it is raised or lowered. Can't believe it will last much longer. The raise button on the control sticks on and the chair keeps rising after you let loose until you hit he button several times to unstick it. Disconcerting and dangerous. As the footrest is raised an 'extension piece' folds out from under the rest. It is just a hard piece of wood with some fabric but NO padding. It does not even run the full width of the footrest. Even at her short height, my wife's feet have to rest on or just beside this extension. It is very uncomfortable. I have no idea how some people could have given this a higher rating. ... show more

    • Great product, but customer service leaves a bit to be desired

My father, who has a herniated disc and COPD, loves his new chair. He says it’s the most comfortable chair he’s ever had. I found it easy to put together, and he uses it with ease. However I wish I could say ordering the chair was as easy. The one thing they don’t tell you before ordering: it comes in two shipments, but you’ll only get the second tracking number if you make a fuss. The first shipment arrived early, only for us to find the chair base was not included. No one said it would come in two shipments, so naturally I assumed a part was missing. After trying to return it and reorder a “complete” chair, Mcombo said the chair base was en route and should arrive within a couple days. A week went by, no shipment arrived. Mcombo then told me that they’d lost the shipment and needed me to contact the shipping company and find out what happened. I refused, insisting that I paid for it, I shouldn’t have to track it down. They promptly sent another chair base through a different shipping company. It arrived within a couple days, and we got the chair put together. Two days later, the “lost” chair base arrived. I am currently suffering from a life threatening illness to which this chair has made my life easier to get up and sit down. The price scared me in the beginning but after doing all the research online that I could , I kept coming back to this chair. I ordered on Wednesday received on Friday via FedEx. REMINDER THIS IS 2 BOXES FOR ONE DELIVERY. Box 1 holds the 2 armrests and spare throw pillow and back rest. My 27 year son had no problem carrying this box. The 2nd box holds the base and is quite heavy, requiring 2 people to carry. Putting together was super simple. I watched the video on amazon website which helped. Armrests first, next backrest. Now hook up all wires DONE!! Operation of the chair is piece of cake. Nothing but 5 Stars ... show more
