  • Nice little sight
Site exactly what I ordered. Easy to install. It is a manual flip up. Have not sighted it or shot with it. Cant say anything about accurate it is at this time. Using it as a back up with a red dot.

  • Perfect!
I own a Colt LE 6940 M4 carbine. The rear sight that came with it was a Ma Tech. Problem was the peep hole was too low in height to co-witness with my EOTech. Then I bought a Troy rear Battle Sight , which was high enough to co-witness, but I could not zero it beyond 10 yards as the stock A2 front sight was at it lowest elevation adjustment and the Troy had no elevation adjustment. Finally, just got this Magpul Pro LR and it's perfect. Has rear sight adjustable elevation and windage. I can now zero this Magpul rear sight at 50 yards with the A2 front sight near max elevation. The peep hole is even a bit higher than the Troy which make a great co-witness for my EOTech. I read some reviews about the glare, but a little flat black hobby paint can fix that. It's a keeper! ... show more

  • A little more pricey than polymer... Worth every penny.
I am a long time fan of Magpul's BUIS; even the polymer series. I have used them on rifles that I knew could see some series combat. They are light-weight, durable, and fairly priced. When I first saw that Magpul had put out the "Pro" version of their BUIS, I didn't see a need to buy them. They were almost double the price, and the old ones worked just fine. With that said, after months of training and honing my rifle into the fighting machine that I thought it should be, it brought me to the weakest link: the polymer iron sights. They were rudimentary, simple, and being made out of polymer, if they took a hard hit (from a drop or other survivable impact), I know that they would probably get broken off of the gun. I finally decided to give the Magpul BUIS Pros a shot. I ordered this rear sight (as well as the Pro front sight), and the reason that I chose this read sight is because I liked the fact that Magpul had included a ranging knob on the back that would allow the shooter to adjust the rear sight's elevation in combat from 200 to 600 yards in 100 yard increments. The sights are extremely robust, and they feel so solid, they may still be standing even after the aluminum upper and lower have been completely trashed from the abuse of training and combat. Yeah, I hope that my optic doesn't fail me and leave me stuck having to try and make shots at 600 yards in a combat scenario with iron sights. Some people would even say that it is pointless to have iron sights that calibrate for 600 yards. My response is this: if you know that your fighting system can make hits at 600 yards, then it would be wise to learn how to take advantage of its ability. I would rather equip the weapon and prepare myself to use it to its full capabilities than to find myself in a combat scenario where my expensive optic has failed me and now my weapon is useless past its basic iron sight zero. ... show more

  • Low Profile, Accurate, Nice finish.
Hi guys, after using these Iron sights extensively, I would like to give my input to help others. Starting off, I have this paired with the MBUS Pro front sight. These iron sights are some of the most accurate sights I've ever used. The squared off design produces a clear round ghost ring to center the front sight post in, making a clean sight picture. They are ultra slim and low profile. These sights flip up and flip down without pressing any buttons making them quick and easy to use. The windage/elevation adjustments are very solid and produce nice firm clicks which are always appreciated, both rear and front sights do not require tools for adjustment. I'm not the best shot, but I was able to get a decent grouping at 50 yards after sighting them in. My only problem with this Iron sight is, sometimes it has a glare at the bottom of the ghost ring, and underneath the ghost ring is a bar that produces a bigger glare which can mess with the sight picture. This only happens when there is bright light shining overhead indoors and outdoors. Magpul put all the time and effort putting serrations into the back of the iron sights to prevent glare but missed these two spots which is a bit ridiculous. The glare isn't noticeable when using the smaller aperture which most people would be using anyways but is much more noticeable when using the larger aperture. Please refer to my photos to see the glare on the iron sights. Overall, I would definitely recommend these iron sights especially at the price for an adjustable rear sight, but the glare can be a problem although it is only there when bright light is overhead. I am currently still running these sights on my AR-15 and like them a lot, they are built extremely sturdy, low profile, have nice clean clicks when using the adjustments and produce a clean sight picture. 4/5 stars minus one for the glare. Thanks for reading my review, please let me know if it helped you out! ... show more

  • To many corners cut
Love the elevation adjustment compared to the plastic/other brands but seems like magpul cut some corners and used crap to make it unlike Troy industry’s

  • Looked perfectly legit, everything works fine, and fits perfectly
I received a new MBUS Pro LR that looks legit, with everything working properly. The elevation dial can be turned by finger and it locks up/down with the greatest of ease. It fits perfectly under the ELCAN Specter DR with the Tenebraex flip-caps and replaced the factory FN rear BUIS on the SCAR perfectly as well. So it's a Win-Win and still keeps the 600m elevation adjustment. I torqued the screw to 45 in-lb and everything seems to hold well. I don't have any complaints. These are a huge huge improvement over their polymer sights and are super-slim. I'm so glad I never wasted money on Matech or Knights rear BUIS. ... show more
