  • Sneaks into Your Subconscious and Helps you Clean Up, lol
This is a great motivational book. It doesn't seem like it would be, but I started reading it a little at a time, say 10 pages or so, and didn't really think anything of it. But, here and there, without really planning anything, I started to clean up little areas in the house. You know, I would go into a room and say to myself, "I think I'll clean up this drawer," or I would just start cleaning up a shelf or sometimes I would find myself cleaning out the fridge. It was super easy and dare I say even FUN! Hum, then one day I cleaned up our back room. It was a mess with Amazon boxes heaped to the ceiling, etc. Before I knew it, I had the whole room pretty spiffy. Wow! I don't know where the energy came from, but it felt super good! I guess this little book really inspired me. I continue to clean up here and there around the house and it seems to come easy. I even donated a bunch of stuff, and I didn't feel bad. I felt good. I don't put any pressure on myself. I just do a little here and there, and voila! The house is getting better and better. Yay! Thanks! I highly recommend this book. I give it 5 STARS! ... show more

  • Goodbye junk, hello clean house
This is one of Don Aslett's great books on reducing and managing clutter. It offers the advice and encouragement needed to simplify your life by dejunking your space. As the author states, "Sometimes the hardest part about dejunking is knowing where to start!" In this book, you learn to isolate mini eye sores that have been bugging you forever. You pick a challenge you can tackle in one weekend, such as sorting the sock drawer or cleaning out the refrigerator. You gain a sense of pride and empowerment with each small conquest. If you have been putting off dejunking your space because the task seemed too overwhelming, this book is for you. Start your dejunking with baby steps. Bask in your achievement. Give yourself a well deserved pat on the back. ... show more

I am too old to work this hard for a whole weekend, but I am taking the advice is smaller bites and it is making such a big difference in my surroundings. Thanks Don Aslett.

  • You really cannot go wrong! GREAT BOOK, GREAT COMPANY!
Don Aslett was a life changer for me in 1981 with his "Is there life after housework". I bought this book as a gift for my daughter-in-law, because of his way of simplifying the most cumbersome, overwhelming things with your house when you have a large family, and so many things going on! I would recommend any of his books for help when you are just running in circles trying to keep things up, and still have your sanity to enjoy your life and family! This was a GREAT deal second hand! I don't believe the book said excellent condition, but it certainly is! Great book, great company to buy from! ... show more

  • Wonderful Book
I am a huge Don Aslett fan and every time I read one of his books I de-clutter my home with a vengeance. This is one book that you cannot just read through. You will want to jump up and start attacking those piles of clutter. Don takes you step by step (and room by room) through the process and helps you to sort the clutter from the genuinely useful stuff that you want to keep. A fantastic how to do it guide from the King Of Clean. ... show more

Can't do it all in one weekend, but it's a good start. Don Aslett is terrific when it comes to decluttering.

  • Motivating!
Great book, and very motivating to read if you dread doing the deeper cleaning and organizing because you are short on time like me.
