This register is well made and fits perfectly in my 12x6 wall vent. It's a really nice upgrade from the cheapo big box white grates that came with the house and fits the style of my 1920s home. I also had issues with the size of the old registers outside of the vent insert -- my vent openings are only about a half inch above the surface of the floor, and the old ones never fit quite right without scraping the hardwood floor. This has a more narrow frame beyond the vent opening, so it fits perfectly. I'm very pleased and will be buying more Madelyn Carter registers for the rest of the house!

Swag! Details like this matter, I searched for 1 hour on Home Depot and amazon and found barely find any all metal vent covers that looked decent. Most of the ones these days are plastic. After spending about $7,000 on a bathroom, 1k of that being the floor tiling, i didn’t want to slap some cheap garbage on as a finishing touch. This thing, looks so cool and it makes a difference in the room. $40 yikes, buttt, The pattern is so cool, metal engineering built to last, cathedral styles , royal, artistic and timeless. Compared to what I spent on my new bathroom, $40 is a drop in the bucket. I chose quality all along the way and this cover was no exception. Might actually be my favorite detail in the batbroom. Quality and style makes you smile and feel proud, cheap makes you feel well ... cheap. We recently took a tour inside of the Biltmore House, Nothing cheap is in that house, and it still looks as good as the day they built it 200 yrs ago. Be like a Vanderbilt.

Looks great. I installed it in a wall, so I needed to add the side tabs. I saw several complaints about the screws being too short. I didn't experience that. The screws held the tabs tight and the tabs are holding the vent cover firmly to the wall. The vent controls work well too. Good product and looks great.

I wanted registers that would lay flat. These are all steel. They have a nice texture. The top is thick and strong yet it only sits about 1/4" above the hardwood floor with a smooth sloped edge.. My Ecobot robot vacuum can roll over it where it got all confused and made a heck of a racket over the old style metal fin vents. I do close the vents before vacuuming though as the sliders to control the opening add another 1/4" and the robot has to go around the knobs. The height of the control knobs are actually less than the old finned vent control lever. We remodeled every room in the house and wanted the vents to match the quality of the rest of the details.. You can definitely walk on them. We put in hardwood and these look great laying on the floor. Fit well and operate smoothly. Photo shows the vents in the OPEN - highest position. When closed, the knobs are flush.

These are excellent! We have a few vents in an area that are going to be stepped on due to a built-in bench/window seat. These vents are extremely strong & durable when stepped on. They are absolutely gorgeous, with a matte/textured finish that is stunning. The design is classic/traditional yet would fit in an historical home or a more modern house. They look great with hardwood and LVP. The price may seem steep, but once you see them, you’ll see the price is great! These should last forever!

I have been searching for a wall register for MONTHS! I love the design and color of this register and it fits perfectly with the wall clips that come with it. Was very easy to install and stays in. I could not find many options for our size opening.

What you see is what you get. It was a tight enough fit into our vent (on the side of a wall) that we didn't need to use the wall-attachment clips that it comes with. Nice product.
