Description

The M-D Adjustable Aluminum & Hardwood Threshold features an adjustable riser to seal uneven gaps underneath your door. This product protects the home against drafts, moisture, dust and insects. The threshold can be used with a new door or to replace an existing threshold. All of the hardware needed for installation is included. Before installation, the threshold can be cut to a desired length using a hacksaw. To best seal your doorway, this product can be used with a door sweep or an under door seal. From the Manufacturer Deluxe model adjustable height threshold. Oak riser adjusts to seal gaps under your door from 1-1/8-Inch to 1-3/8-Inch Heavy duty aluminum and oak design assures years of protection from the elements. Installing a threshold will help to seal out drafts from the bottom of your door. A door sweep is recommended to be used with this threshold to provide the best weather-tight seal. Make your home more comfortable and save energy at the same time.

Before using! Please remember to MEASURE so your screws are evenly spaced. This item usually arrives as a longer piece than you need so there will be a good fit. So delighted with the quality and durability. Wood will need to be varnished/finished to match your other wood finish. If it’s not near other wood, recommend a good double clear coating. Easy to install and adjust. Components are well made. Materials are of high quality. I highly recommend this for an exterior door. Make sure to add plenty of calk to the underside for water protection.

I don't know why they didn't use all hard wood. The inside is made of pine and will not last if exposed to moisture.

This is perfect! Sizing was exact, installation was a breeze! I was able to install myself while husband was at work. Loved that it came unfinished and I was able to stain to my liking. Very pleased with this item and highly recommend

Product arrived promptly. Installed it at the front door. First surprise is that the oak potion of this threshold is actually only on the surface. Under the thin layer of oak is pine. Secondly the screws/washers etc are not great and dont even work very well. They do not raise and lower as you would expect and as others have said the thin oak moves up and down when you step on it. They are also a bit tricky to get lined up without the little washers falling out of place. I would not buy this item again (unless the price was lower and I were maybe going to put it in a doorway that I would never use). I have given 3 stars because its not too expensive and it does work.. its just not great. I used this to replace a similar but 25 yr. old Stanley threshold. ... show more
