That they call this a "heavy duty" curtain rod is an absolute joke! It is a piece of junk! It bent in two places before I could even put it up and that was without curtains on it! We had to spend at least 30 minutes trying to straighten it back out with pliers to even get it to work at all! Then we had to screw two hooks into the window sill to hold it up! It is a total rip-off! I only kept it because I couldn't find another one that length, so I felt like I had no choice. It needs to be reinforced from one end to the other with duct tape! I purchased this curtain rod to hold up some thin valences and it does the job, but the quality is not there. First off, if you have a wide window seal and need to use the add on, it's DIFFICULT to connect the two pieces and keep them together while trying to thread through the curtains. It's manageable, but I ran into the same problem when trying to hang up the curtain rod. Once it was up, I haven't had any problems with it coming down, but it sure gave me some trouble when assembling it. ... show more
