I am a hobbyist mechanic and use my tools daily. These ratches were a great addition to my toolbox. They have multiple lengths, drive sizes, and clear markings. So far, they have held up to my use/abuse and are amazing good value. These are my first gearwrench tools and I am impressed with their durability and ease of use and comfort. Packaged individually in plastic to prevent scratches etc. Getting scratches is going to happen anyway in my line of work. I bought these because I own the 1/2 adjustable angle ratchet included in this set and it is still tough as nails. Will update later on how it's went with this set. I bought this “new” 11 piece ratchet set from gear wrench. When I got the set, I was surprised by the lack of packaging. They came in an outer box with dunnage. The ratchet themselves were thrown in a plastic bag inside of a gear wrench labeled box. The ratchets were covered in oily fingerprints, and there are gouges on most of the ratchet heads sharp corners. One of the half-inch flex head ratchet heads finish is already worn through which you can see in the pictures. Now, were these used ratchets and returned and thrown back in another box and plastic? Or does the manufacturing process not control for gouges on the edges of the ratchet head? I don’t know. But $5 in cheap plastic molding or protection would go a long way. At the end of the day, these ratchet heads work. They’re going to get beat up working on my vehicles, but I wanted to be the one to beat them up. If you were worried about aesthetics of your new tools go buy them in a brick and mortar store or off a tool truck. If you’re more worried about getting the job done and care less about aesthetics of your tools and saving a dollar get these. 4/5 stars. Bought for $279.31 on 12/7/24. They were just delivered and looking at the current price they are $244.40 on 12/14/24. There is serious value in the 11 piece set, buying these individually costs way more. The 1/2” locking flex is $70 alone. ... show more
