    • Very good camera
I initially gave this camera a 2 stars review, but after contacting Luowice Tech Support and my problems resolved, I am updating my review to 4 1/2 stars - well Amazon does not allow half stars, so I gave 5. Not sure if this update will overwrite the 2 stars one, if not, just ignore the 2 stars review - and make sure you use the P2P version of HiP2P and not the LAN version. Now my 4 1/2 stars review: Very good camera, good picture quality, good night vision, can set motion detection for up to 4 areas with different sensitivity, a motion alarm at night will trigger flood light. Supports FTP to forward alarm snapshots and recordings to a FTP server on the same network. I configured and monitor the camera on a Windows 10 PC, using the HiP2P Client open source application. The software does have shortcomings, but it's free and all seems to work. In any event, Luowice have at best limited control over HiP2P Client, so cannot fault Luowice for HiP2P problems. If you do work with the PC H2P2P Client app, then download a good user manual, I found one that explains all the non-camera specific features and is very useful. Download the installation and operation PDF file from Luowice web for details on how to set camera specific settings. You can also use a smart phone to setup and monitor the camera. I did not and have no comment. I do have a big complaint that there is no way (at least none that I can find) to specify where the camera lens should be set after a power cycle. At the very least, the camera lens should automatically be at the last position prior to the reset. This can be easily implemented in the camera's firmware. I'm only deducting half a star, other people might find this a deal breaker. ... show more

    • Worked very well until it didn’t *update*
Product seemed to be great but only lasted about a month.. set up was a little confusing until plugged directly into router, motion sensor picked up figures but not movement of camera at all and night vision looked great until one day it would only show a black and white imagine unless spot light would turn on pretty much defeating the point of night vision.. Update received an email about how to resolve the night vision so far seems to work. ... show more

    • Good value outdoor camera, works with PC browsers
Cameras that only support phones are missing the mark. What good is a high quality image, or security footage on a phone? This camera works fine on a phone but also fully supports the obsolete Internet Explorer and IE tab that you can add to Chrome and others. There are ways to get IE to work with Windows 10 and 11, but I just use Windows 7 and IE for security cameras. People who are afraid of the low security of this technique are simply being paranoid. This camera has some fun modes for night detection, high quality image etc, but that's not what this review is about.     • Meh. Don't last too long.
I purchased three of these for use on my iSpy system. Two were installed right away and one about 6 months ago. The first two were installed using wireless and they would periodically cut out. I ran CAT6 to both and then they worked great.... for a while. About 3 months ago one stopped working and the other stopped about 2 months ago. I pulled one down and did a hard reset that fixed only the wireless connection, the NIC is completely gone but at least I have the wireless connection, sometimes. I pulled the other one down and acts like it resets - it goes through the motions of the camera moving through its axis. But the camera cannot be found by the CamHiPro app, iSpy, or direct connection. All it does is make an audible 'tick' through the speaker about every 30 seconds. The third is on a wired network. It works OK except the sound works sporadically. Not so happy with the longevity of my purchase. ... show more
