Lost most of our seasoned Lodge cookware, so in looking to replace, I couldn't pass up this one (in fact I ordered this one mostly as a display unit) to the other Lodge purchase. It's cast iron, it's heavy, don't put it in the dishwasher, or soak over night, scrub with steel wool, rinse dry and oil (you can warm it up some too) and you'll have great cookware that you can use anywhere (stove, oven, fire) but not the microwave (you know that whole made of metal thing). If your having issues, it's most likely not the pan, use it like it should and it'll do it's job. I have not needed customer service so can't comment on that, but would not hesitate to buy this brand, from this seller again. ... show more

    • Loving these pans
We've purchased four of these recently. Made in the USA. Sturdy. Easy to clean. This pan heats up fast and has pretty good heat distribution compared to some others I've used. We use, wash, and then we heat dry it on the stove; and then we apply a thin layer of olive oil to the surface to improve the seasoning. My grandmother taught me years ago that drying your cast-iron pan on a stove burner after washing is the best way to prevent rust. A cast-ion pan she gave me 32 years ago is still going strong because I've always dried it on a burner after washing it. I think a lot of people don't know this trick because I see so may reviews complaining that the pan they just bought keeps rusting. Heat drying the cast-iron desiccates it thoroughly and quickly, which just drying with a towel can't do. We really appreciate these pans from Lodge and are grateful they are made in the USA. ... show more
