I’ve had this Lodge set for a couple of years now, and I still think it’s one of the best kitchen investments I’ve made. Each piece is hefty and feels solid in the hands, you can tell it’s built to last. The 10.5" griddle is wide enough for pancakes or tortillas without feeling bulky, and the 8" and 10.25" skillets are the perfect everyday sizes for frying eggs, sautéing veggies, or searing steaks. The handles are a bit shorter than those on modern nonstick pans, which can take some getting used to, especially when the pan is full. That said, the shorter handles actually make the heavier pans easier to maneuver and store, though I always use a towel or mitt since they stay hot for a long time. The Dutch oven is deep and surprisingly roomy for soups, stews, or baking bread, and I love that the 10.25" lid fits both the skillet and the Dutch oven, it makes the whole set feel more versatile. Over time, the seasoning has only improved, and with proper care, washing by hand and drying right away, I’ve had no issues with rust or chipping. For me, the weight is a tradeoff I’m happy with; it makes the pieces feel stable on the stove and worth the extra effort. If you’re willing to care for them, these are cookware pieces that can last a lifetime. Got this for christmas and it is our ritual in the house, the quality is so good and stays in perfect condition. It’s pretty heavy, and hasn’t rusted since we got it in december. It does it get very hot so make sure to use proper wear when handling. The size of these are great for perfectly in oven when done or even hanged in the wall.
