  • Heavy-duty, classic cast iron.
I love cooking in cast-iron utensils. this skillet is designed to handle everything from baking to searing, roasting, and even frying. One of its standout features is its excellent heat retention and even distribution, ensuring your dishes cook to perfection. Whether you're preparing cornbread, pizzas, or a hearty breakfast skillet, the results are consistently impressive. The cast iron construction also adds a rustic charm, making it suitable for both oven-to-table presentations. The pre-seasoned surface is a huge plus, as it offers a natural non-stick layer that improves with every use. However, like any cast iron product, it does require proper care—hand washing, drying immediately, and reapplying oil to maintain the seasoning. Its size and depth make it ideal for both home cooks and professionals who want a reliable tool for a variety of culinary tasks. While the skillet is on the heavier side, this is a trade-off for its durability and performance. ... show more

  • Great general purpose skillet for use on induction burner or in toaster oven
I have had a regular long-handled Lodge 10" skillet for years But recently, I had to move to a Seniors apartment with a small galley kitchen. Little counter space, but worse - the oven was one of the 1/2 size electric coil disasters. Which I will rarely use - only with my non-induction Presto pressure cooker. As a result, my cooking is now done mostly with a single induction burner, and new countertop Smart Oven & air fryer.. So my old long handle would no longer fit in the countertop oven for baking, roasting, etc. This one fits perfectly. Labeling it a 'Bakers skillet' is a disservice. It is just as much general purpose as the long-handle. Even a bit lighter and easier to move around A great skillet for use with single induction burners and counter top ovens ... show more

  • Good quality
I wanted a cast iron pot and ordered this. When it came I noticed that it was light and then read that it was a bakers skillet. I was a bit worried that it couldn’t be used on the stovetop, but, yes, works just fine. Mind you, I haven’t used it in the oven as yet but I’m sure it’ll work just fine. Rusted a little on first cleaning but all I did was to apply a little oil. It is of adequate size as I cook for a single person. Good quality. ... show more

  • Large cast iron, you can't beat it!
I am converting my lifestyle to get ready for tiny house living in my retirement years. I like cast iron but I don't always like the handles because the handles make it hard to store sometimes as they sort of get in the way yes they're helpful when it comes to lifting pans and stuff but sometimes you just don't want to handle in your way. Well I like these pans because a since it's called a baker's pan it's a little bit lighter weight than the standard skillets that Lodge makes but it's just as tough and Cooks just as fine as the regular Skillets with the handles. I have one of these and a double handled 12-in skillet both of these, workout fantastic as far as storage easy to put away they don't take up a lot of space. They can fit in smaller tabletop size convection ovens and work perfect for handling things to say roasting pans they're good all purpose the double handles work great you get a little bit used to him and you don't miss the regular handle at all once you have acclimated I highly recommend getting one or two of these and pairing down the rest of your cookware these are workhorses and they do the job and they do it well! ... show more

  • As Goldilocks said, it's just right!
I've been slowly replacing an old set of Circulon cookware that I've had since the early 90s. I decided to go with Lodge cast iron for the skillets because, with proper seasoning, they are non-stick and can also be used for acidic foods. However, I found that the Lodge 12" pan I purchased a few years ago is way too heavy to lift with one hand, especially when it's hot and filled with ingredients. The size is also a bit too large when cooking for just two people. Thanks to Black Friday I was able to snag this 10.25" Lodge Cast Iron Baker's Skillet. What a difference 1.75" makes. {wink} It's the perfect size and weight, has two handles so it can easily be transported to the oven or the sink, and I LOVE that it came with a glass lid. As Goldilocks said, it's just right! The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because Lodge claims their pans are pre-seasoned. While they may have seasoned it a little, the pan was in no way ready to fry an egg. Even with a bit of butter fat in the pan my egg was a hot comical disaster! It's probably common sense to people who are more familiar with cast iron, but it didn't even occur to me that it wouldn't be good straight out of the box. Lesson learned: Always do several rounds of seasoning before using a new cast iron pan! ... show more

  • Great Cast Iron Skillet
This cast iron skillet is perfect. It was pretty well seasoned when I bought it but since this is not my first cast iron skillet I knew how to season it and now I know how to clean them properly. I have had no problem with my cornbread sticking to the bottom. It is easy to clean and season and I still season after each use. I definitely recommend this to anyone wanting to start with their first seasoned cast iron skillet. ... show more

  • Handles are perfect
Handle arrangement makes it a very good baking dish. Typical of Lodge cast iron cooking qualities. Holds heat, easy to clean and goes from oven to table for baking and serving all-in-one. Worth the price.
