This is my first set of cross bars (ever) - so it took me a bit to figure out how to install. The bars themselves are very nice - finish is great, have a nice sturdy weight to them, and they look good! Install isn't complicated - just time consuming. So you basically loosely screw the end caps to the bars - set it up on your rails, and the loose screws allow you to adjust the width to fit your rails. But that was the issue, once you set the distance - there is no good way with the tools provided to tighten the screws in place. You have to remove the bars to tighten the screws but then you run the risk of things moving and the distance being off. But here is my trick - when you have the bars up there and have the distance set, use a piece of blue painters tape to mark the spot where the bar and end cap meet. Then you can take it down, line the end cap up to the tape and tighten the screws down. This worked perfectly once I figured this out. The bars are a nice tight fit, and the clamps seem to hold things down very well once tightened. And driving all week - have not heard any wind noise or whistling. So if you dedicate a bit of time to the install, I think you will be happy with the results! ... show more
