This is a very nice tumbler. Not like the flimsy toy ones. The barrel is made of thick rubber, not thin plastic and is very solid. I really like that it will hold 2 1/2 pounds of rock instead of the 1 pound for other tumblers. Setting the timer and speed is very easy. The rocks obviously make noise as they tumble but the motor itself is very quiet. The rocks that came with the kit are of high quality and there is just enough grit to do each step. The enclosed manual is simple to understand and very helpful. The package gives you the option to get additional belts for free. If you contact the company you will immediately hear from customer service. They seem very attentive. I received my free belts in a timely fashion and although I have not had any problems I am confident that their customer service will be there to help if I need them. I am very happy with my purchase.

I don't use this for rock tumbling right now. I'm using it to polish copper jewelry. I use stainless steel shot and the copper comes out AMAZING! Shiny and and burrs and scratches are gone. The tumbler is quiet due to the rubber barrel. It comes with a collection of decent sized rocks for tumbling, packets of tumbling grit, ceramic cylinder filler media, extra belts, and a very comprehensive, easy to understand guide/instruction manual. I had a question about how the machine was running and received an timely email, same day, explaining and answering my question/concern. I'm EXTREMELY happy I purchased this brand and model of tumbler. In my opinion it's a VERY good value.

The user booklet is well laid out, and following the directions for each step, the results are excellent. Expectations should be a polished and satin like finish. We have used it twice on two types of small rocks, one being Amethyst. Both sets came out extremely well and are perfect for our displaying in a small crystal container. It is quiet, we have it in a back work area by our den, and cannot hear it. Do not short cut the recommended number of cycles, or days for each cycle. Our next effort will be with some rocks about an inch in diameter and look forward to seeing how the tumbler handles them.

This tumbler while well reviewed, well priced, and easy to use, may not be worth your time or money. Between my sister and I we have now owned 3 of them. By about the 6 month mark of use, all 3 abruptly quit working. They refuse to spin, even with an empty barrel, despite being well maintained. I would not recommend this tumbler. The company does not respond to messages or emails. The links on their website do not work. Their phone number is text only and also gets no response. There are other great tumblers out there that can be found for not much more money that will last for years. Amazon did try to help me connect with the company and when that did not work Amazon allowed me to return the product for a refund, even though it was well past the return window. EDIT: After posting this review and working with Shaving to return the tumbler, the company reached out to me. They told me that they had not recurved any of my communications Anna's ordered to send me a brand new tumbler even though I was able too get most off my money back from Amazon. They also reached out to my sister to take care of hers as well. They were very kind and polite to me. I just got the new tumbler last night. Here's hoping for better luck this round 😊

The Komestone rock tumbler with the brushless motor is a very good tumbler. It is sturdy and well-built. The tumbler will throw a belt occasionally, but changing the belt is super easy. The machine comes with 5 belts. Additional replacement belts are inexpensive. Word of advice: You may want to run Step 1 for more than one week. Check on your rocks often. The longer your run time on step 1, the more pits and cracks will be smoothed out. This is a fun hobby for anyone. My husband and I are both above 60, and we enjoy this very much. You will be amazed at the changes in just about any rock that you come across. Be sure to read every instruction and watch some of the YouTube videos for helpful information. Enjoy!

I purchased this rock tumbler kit as a gift for my wife. I used to have one as a kid and loved creating beautiful specimens from, basically, stuff you find in the dirt. What a huge difference from what I had as a kid! The Komestone folks have the best designed rock tumbler kit on the market, AND they have the best customer service. After my purchase Komestone customer service sent us a package of 5 extra belts for the tumbler for free! No obligation. In addition they provided us with a contact name and contact info for their customer service specialist just in case we do have any issues. In addition to our experience with the company, the Komestone rock tumbler kit itself is well designed and executed. The rubber drum is easy to use, large, quiet and durable. The controls are easy to use and the display is big, bright, and easy to see. The kit comes with not just the tumbler but grit, tools, a supply of VERY interesting rocks to get started with, and of course lots of spare belts. We have grandkids who are going to receive their own Komestone rock tumbler kits, it's a not just a toy but a great hobby and useful skill.
