  • Save your check valve!!!
Size: 115 Volts Style: Includes Safety Switch
My 18 year old version of this died so I bought this replacement. Like many others, the new check valve is intermittent. Sometimes, some or all of the water drains back in; other times, the check valve works fine. My old check valve always worked, but I accidentally tossed it before installing the new pump. I don't understand Little Giant's valve policy that others have written about - you have enough ability to install the pump, and remove it for warranty, but you don't have enough ability to use an open-end wrench to remove and replace the dead check valve so you have to return the whole unit? I put one of these in because I need the A/C to work and I'm not going to spend a few weeks emptying a bucket by hand while Little Giant figures out the warranty, so I'm forced to buy a new valve (plus it's probably a wash for pump return shipping vs. new valve cost) or live with the random gurgles (I'm doing that now - I can wait until winter for the valve). I guess they decided to make a few more dollars by stonewalling their customers and only inspecting/testing the valves they sell individually. Five stars for the form/fit/function replacement pump and 1 star for the check valve - 3 stars. So - be sure to save your old check valve if it works, in case the new one is junk! ... show more

  • Float switches are terrible quality- this WILL fail within 1-2 years
Size: 115 Volts Style: Includes Safety Switch
This brand seems to own the market for condensate pumps, and the pumping mechanism works fine, but we've had 3 of these fail in the span of 2 years due to the float switch just ceasing to work (and subsequent minor flooding before we noticed)- one failed 13 months after purchase and the replacement we bought came new with the float switch not even working. Not sure why it's hard to make a switch which lasts- would recommend buying another brand if there was a good alternative as these are very low quality and poor value ... show more

  • Pretty good pump
Size: 115 Volts Style: Includes Safety Switch
So I ordered this as an exact replacement for a condensate pump that was failing. (In that, the old one was making weird noises). The new condensate pump came in a couple days. I got it installed, and it works fine. But it makes pretty much the same noise that the old one did. It’s in the basement though, and away from our main living area though, so it’s not a bother. The new pump was shipped only in it’s original box, with no overpacking - and when it arrived, the two plastic clips that hold the top cover on were snapped off. Didn’t seem like it was going to affect the operation of the pump though, so I just installed it as is. Will post later if there are any other issues. ... show more

  • Switch failed many times & inside heavily corroded after 12 months - Company would not replace it!
Size: 115 Volts Style: Includes Safety Switch
Bought this pump 13 months ago. The switch started failing intermittently after 10 months. I removed the pump after 13 months (and extensive water spill damage). The inside of the pump was HEAVILY corroded. See attached pictures. I contacted the Little Giant customer service and they were quick to point out that I was one month out of the warranty period. The sorry and clearly defective state of the pump did not change their mind. Conclusion: Don't buy this product if you expect it to function beyond its 12 months warranty. If you bought it return/replace it at the first sign of switch failure and/or corrosion. ... show more

  • Known to be defective to the manufacturer
Size: 115 Volts Style: Includes Safety Switch/Tubing
The pumping action is fine and it is reasonably quiet. The check valve does not work properly and is known to the manufacturer to be defective. Water drains back down into the reservoir from only a six foot height at about an inch per 15 seconds. This failure of the check valve causes the pump to cycle more often and uses extra energy. I wrote to the manufacturer's tech support. The support rep wrote back that they use a floating ball in the check valve, not a spring loaded check valve with a rubber seal. Clearly he knew that it was not a workable design since he wrote what a workable design is. He said it usually works. Considering that the pump spec is for 20 vertical feet and I am at less than one third of that distance, it clearly is a defective design. I will try to find a usable check valve and update the review. Too bad that this product, like so many others are known to the manufacturer to be defective, but they sell them anyway. My guess is that many, if no most people would not notice the defect and just pay for an early failure and more electricity. Last time I buy from Little Giant. They used to sell a good product. ... show more

  • Easier to replace then cleaning the old one.
Size: 115 Volts Style: Includes Safety Switch
Wish I had bought it sooner. I kept nursing my old unit along, cleaning it and shaking it to get it to work for a few weeks longs then finally it just kept filling up and turning my HVAC unit off it just became unreliable this is after 9yrs of use, it was a mess and I could tell it was full bcs my house would start warming up and I knew to go check the pump, in my house the pump is wired to the HVAC system and if it gets over full it will turn off the system. So anyway I found this unit it is a direct replacement on amazon and purchased it, it took me about 3-5 minutes to hook it up and I filled it up a few times with tap water to make sure it was okay then left it alone to fill up. It is working beautifully I also have a dehumidifier draining into the pump so it does a large HVAC unit and a large dehumidifier and hasn't missed a beat since I hooked it up. ... show more

  • Works like a charm.
Size: 115 Volts Style: Includes Safety Switch
I bought the Little Giant to accompany my Frigidaire 70 pint dehumidifier(which I recommend). I didn't want to go to the basement multiple times per day. This pump works great! It is strong enough to pump up to the 8 foot ceiling in my basement laundry room, and go an additional 10 feet to the drain with no problem. I highly recommend! ... show more

  • easty to install
Size: 115 Volts Style: Includes Safety Switch
I've had two on different furnaces. One has lasted at least a dozen years and still works. The other gave up the ghost after six years. I never cleaned them (might make them last a lot longer), but I noticed that the instructions say to clean them whenever you change the air filter. For what they are, they seem reliable. Pays to put them in a tray with a water alarm so that if they die you know before your basement floods. That worked well for me. ... show more
