This soft version of the Lincove Cloud Canadian Down Pillow was almost the perfect pillow for me. I learned during the trial period that I needed the next level of firmness. Without the trial, I would have given up! Ultimately, with help from Lincove customer service, I ended up with the medium version of the Cloud pillow and it feels just right. I remember sleeping comfortably on a down pillow when I was younger. However, the quality of replacement pillows I've purchased over the years never measured up to what I remember. The promises are inspiring, but shredded memory foam, molded memory foam, or cotton fill are not for me. Recently, thanks to a pillow from one of those companies that promised I would sleep "cooler," I started waking up with neck pain in the middle of the night. That's when my search for the right pillow kicked into high gear. The Lincove Cloud pillow has received many positive reviews, so I decided to try the "soft" firmness level. I was impressed with the luxurious look and feel of the pillow and the excellent packaging. It reminded me of the pillows of long ago. However, the weight of my head nearly flattened the softest pillow in one night. I'm a small person, but apparently need more support! I emailed Lincove, and the customer service rep replied immediately. She suggested I give the pillow a bit longer, and that I put it in the dryer in the Air Fluff cycle for 15-20 minutes. The pillow bounced right back, but I decided after 20 nights or so that I didn't want to run the dryer daily. So I reached out to the Lincove representative about exchanging the pillow for the medium firmness. That was handled so easily, and they ended up letting me keep the soft pillow as well as receiving the medium. I don't mind at all that the company cannot extend a trial period for the second pillow! I almost never write reviews but felt the need to share my most enthusiastic endorsement for these pillows. I couldn't be more thrilled with them. I recently upgraded my bed and went on an involved search to find the perfect down pillows. After doing a lot of research, I decided on trying these pillows from Lincove, although I wasn't totally sure whether firm or medium was best for me. I decided to go with the firm, and when the pillows arrived, the product quality was immediately apparent. Clearly a cut above - I imagine these will last me decades. It turns out the firm was a bit too filled for me, and when I called Lincove to inquire about swapping them for the medium, the customer care team was extremely friendly and accommodating and helped me make the switch I needed. I have gone through numerous kinds of pillows, including foam, feather/down mix, and other brands of full down, trying to find what fits me best. I switch between sleeping on my side and stomach throughout the night, so most pillows seem either too hard or too soft. I originally ordered the medium, but found it a bit too firm when I sleep on my stomach. I called customer service and they sent me a soft, which is perfect! I can bunch it up to mold/form it to the perfect firmness for both sleeping positions. It has considerably more filling than a couple other brands of full down pillows that I have tried. My wife uses a medium firmness down pillow, and I would say that the soft version of this pillow has about the same loft as the medium firmness that I have tried in two other brands. The medium pillow had no smell. The first replacement that they sent had a fairly strong “wet dog” type smell when I opened it. It was shipped during days when it was rainy, hot and humid, so I think this may have caused the smell. I aired it out for a few days but the smell didn’t go away. Lincove then sent me a third pillow. The third one still had a slight smell when it arrived (hot and very humid during shipping again), but the smell improved with this one after airing it out for a couple of days. Overall, the pillow is the best I have slept on. Although I had a few issues, customer service was amazing and very responsive, sending me two replacement pillows. I have tried pillows from all over the world. I only pick hotels that offer pillow service so I can find something tolerable. I found this pillow and I swear by the All Down (no feathers) soft and medium version. I have even bought sweets for my 8 and 16 year old. Soft for stomach sleepers and medium for back sleepers! This pillow is a literal dream come true. Every night it feels like you are sleeping on a lofty close that allows you to sink in and it encompasses you head back and shoulders right where it should. Soft was far too soft. It compressed down to nearly nothing. Customer service hooked me up with a firm on their recommendation. It's better. I think medium might have still been a touch too soft but I don't have one to compare. I think my ideal probably lies just below their firm, but the firm is good enough for me. This is a pillow from heaven. Bought it for my husband as he likes to sleep on medium soft pillow and used to sweat a lot. (So I bought also same brand cover for pillow), but doesnt swear much on this new pillow anymore, it regulates temperature better I guess. Pricey, but I was waiting for prime day to buy it a bit cheaper. I'd say great quality for a great price. ... show more
