Lime Crime Unicorn Hair is a DIY-friendly, semi-permanent color dye that transforms hair into vibrant colors... all from the comfort of your own home. Lipstick is a pretty pink red that will make your fantasy hair color dreams come true, and its sugary citrus vanilla scent will make your transformation even sweeter!
  • Why You Need It: Not only does our damage-free, vegan hair dye give you fun, vibrant color, but this formula also contains conditioning ingredients like fatty acids and vitamins that help to moisturize your hair and boost shine.
  • Before You Use It: Unicorn Hair deposits super-saturated, vibrant color to pre-lightened platinum to medium blonde hair and adds a tint of color to dark blonde and light brown hair. The life cycle of the color depends on the shade and condition of your hair and how often you wash it. Always do a patch and strand test before coloring your full head because results may vary.

  • Just tried it and love it
My daughter wanted just the tip of her hair purple & after reading a bunch of reviews I decided to try this brand based on it being semi permanent, low smell, essentially one step and easy on the hair. Here are my thoughts immediately after dying: -Yes, it will stain EVERYTHING. Bleach works on hard surfaces. If you're gonna be lazy like me and not wear gloves you're gonna get dyed hands. If she'd done her entire head I'd say definitely put an oil barrier on face/neck. - Strong smells give me headaches & my daughter's sensory issues mean there's no way she could deal with the smell of 'normal' hair dye. This has only a light smell and it's not the typical horrible chemical smell. -Consistency is similar to a think hair conditioner, it's nice that it doesn't drip. - It comes in the container it's pictured in, so a brush is helpful for getting it out since you can't just squirt it on your head like bottle dyes, but scooping it out works too. -I really liked that the instructions are printed on the inside of the box so there's no need for extra paper waste. Directions state leave in for 30 mins, longer for a bolder color. My daughter has virgin hair but I wasn't sure if it was light enough to get the color she hoped for. I left the dye in for about 40 mins, put plastic over it while waiting (mostly because after 2 minutes she wanted to rinse it out and all her fidgeting would've had purple everywhere), and hit it with the blow drier just enough to warm it up before rinsing. Not sure if the last 2 steps made any difference, but she loves how it turned out. It's a little darker, but that's due to her natural color & it not being bleached first. Her hair looks amazingly healthy too. I'll definitely get this again when she wants a new color. I'll try to post an update on how well it lasts. We have highly chlorinated & hard city water, so it's pretty harsh on color, but we'll see how it goes. ... show more

  • New favorite brand
NEW FAVORITE BRAND! I love changing my hair color “almost as often as you change clothes” as my grandma likes to say. In general I change fantasy colors every 3-4 weeks max and the constant color removing and needing to rebleach certain spots can absolutely fry my hair… this brand lifted out so easily! Not from standard washing your hair but when it’s time to change colors it is no problem. I purchased 3 colors so far, I used the sour candy pink first and I think it would have looked stunning had I been willing to bleach my hair one more time to get it to a level 9-10 but I didn’t, I ordered bubblegum pink to apply over it and loved it it was way more vibrant and bright on my not perfectly bleached hair (probably a level 7-8) and did the other half of my head with the pony purple and it was stunning as well. I do think sour candy didn’t work well for me due to my own incompetence so no hate on them, my friend who had lighter hair used what I had left and it worked perfectly for her. I removed half of the dye at a time for two reasons 1)I had a split dye so each half of my head we’re completely different colors so I assumed they would need different amounts of time. 2) the color was lifting so quickly that I couldn’t get my whole head done evenly. I did half of it with a box of color oops and was shocked at how fast it lifted out and how evenly as well. The pony purple was still extremely vibrant when doing this (washed maybe 4-5 times leading up to color removal) and it took one round of color oops and even removed all of it before the time listed on the box, I left it on to the listed time anyways to make sure it was all out and on the bubblegum pink I ran out of color oops so o decided to remove it with a round of bleach. I used 20vol bleach mixed as instructed by the bleach brand and it only had to be left on for 15ish minutes for it to fully remove the pink. The colors held up well with my normal hair wash routine with color safe products, pretty comparable to other brands I’ve used, nothing phenomenal with it vibrancy life in my opinion but that works fine for me because I like to switch up colors so often. It lifted out so flawlessly with one round of remover that I’m currently, confidently rocking blonde because of how well it all came out. It smelled great and didn’t damage my hair. All in all to summarize… if you change colors often this brand is game changing for hair health but if you stick to pink all the time for example than it might not stay vibrant as long as you might like but isn’t too quick to come out with standard washing. ... show more

  • I Love Lime Crime Colors!
I love Lime Crime Hair Colors! (The picture is 2 weeks after using Genie.) There is no mixing involved, which is a huge plus. I use Genie, Pony and Mochi, depending on my mood. I don't bleach my hair before coloring; the natural color is medium brown and some greys, and I find that Genie, probably because it is so dark, lasts the longest. I usually wash my hair twice a week and the colors last anywhere from 2-4 months, which is pretty good for semi-permanent coloring. The only reason I gave 4 stars on longevity is because some might find the color fades too fast, but I am EXTREMELY happy with Lime Crime and it's the only color I use on my hair. Plus it smells fantastic! ... show more

  • Great if you want something long lasting. Not great if you want short term color.
I'm normally dark blonde. This product was very easy to use. I wanted it for a couple weeks of fun color for football playoffs. The first photo is day one. The second photo is a month later. Still very purple. The third photo is about 6 weeks later. In bright light it was still lavender. I ended up bleaching my hair platinum to get rid of it and there's still some very light lavender in the front section. So definitely get this for long term color but I wouldn't do this if you expect out to wash out in a few washes. And if you're blonde it will leave your hair very dark when it starts to wash out. ... show more

  • PINK
When I was twelve I met a fifteen-year-old boy who had bright pink hair. Now I'm married to that boy, and I have the privilege of applying his quarterly pink hair dye. We tried several brands but this one has been our favorite so far in terms of brightness (it's almost a neon coral without skewing too orange, it's definitely PINK) and longevity. We've been using it for probably three or more years now, and then use the Limecrime pink conditioner to keep it going for several months until his hair grows out and it's time to re-bleach and re-apply. (photo shows pink a few weeks out from a fresh color, but before any pink conditioner has been applied) ... show more
