  • Excellent set kids love, but watch those instructions!
Style: Deluxe Playset
Kids love it! Instructions are bad. Simply put the kids love it and the construction is solid. The mechanics of assembly are actually pretty straight forward, which is good since the instructions are wrong and/or misleading in several spots. I considered dropping the score to a 4 out of 5 because of the instructions, but it really is well made and the kids enjoy it so much, I kept it at a 5. Some warning about construction: 1. Watch out when you are putting on the handrails support arms on the top deck. They don't make it clear which side the support arms (with the extra angled bracket attaching on the bottom) are supposed to be on. If you look very carefully you can notice the number of holes in the main structure support beam so that you can start on the correct side. Took me 30 minutes to swap all the support arms that were bolted to the floor and hand rail ring after I realized my mistake. 2. On mine they changed the bolts used to hang the main tower side panels onto the tower. The blister pack letters matched but the bolts and nuts in the blister pack were not the same. There were still the right amount of bolts/nuts, just the wrong type and missing washers. I used the ones they included and it worked out fine (using the nut on the backside of the main support beams with out a washer and putting the washers I did have in the pack on the pane side). Those were the two major pain points in construction for me. Beyond that it went together fine with just myself and my kids helping me by fetching tools and lending supporting hands. Also fun building with the kids something they have a big interest in completing. ... show more

  • Horrible to Assemble but Totally Worth It
Style: Deluxe Playset
It took two people three days to assemble this play set -- just shy of 20 hours. Although it was expected (hence why I'm still giving 5 stars) the instructions were pretty terrible and the hardware wasn't the best quality -- we snapped two screws with an allen wrench in the first 30 minutes. Hardware was missing, instructions were incorrect, or even missing. There were details where clearly an image was to be illustrating the assembly but the image was missing and the page was blank! Lots of guess work resulted, usually meaning we'd get to the next step only to realize we guessed wrong and have to go back and undo everything we just assembled. We used photos from the internet to figure out how the side panels were arranged. I think we essentially built the whole thing twice due to missing/poor instructions. And we're two individuals who work in construction--one of which is licensed to assemble and install pipe! All that said, we did it and it's fantastic. There is more than enough room for 6 kids to play on it at once (the max we've had on it so far). It's sturdy, attractive, and has tons of fun features to keep the kids engaged. They are thrilled. We have the geodome too (MUCH easier to assemble!) and they look awesome together. ... show more

  • Great Playset So Far... Tedious Install
Style: Deluxe Playset
Bought this from a warehouse club and recently set it up with my wife. We live in Arizona and it was incredibly hot so we spaced the install up over about 6 days and did a little each day when we had time. POSITIVES - Well thought out playset, kids love it - Each component seemed well made - Pieces for the most part fit together and didn't have to drill more than 15 or so holes with the drill. - Somewhat flexible in that you can switch the ladder and the slide to give more flexibility. Our yard isn't huge and wouldn't work right if we set it up like you see in the image for the listing. Instead we swapped the ladder and slide and it fit perfect for our situation. NEGATIVES - Instruction manual was wrong in several places - Spare hardware was not enough, had to substitute screws we had extra of to use in other places - Extra hardware leftover that was not part of the spare bag. - The grey plastic walls on the upper level did not seat just right so screws are placed awkwardly. Cosmetic worry only. OVERALL We really like the set and hope it stands the test of time with the brutal Arizona summer sun and the sprinklers. If it does well after a couple years I'll come back and add on a star... for the time being the agony of the installation makes me dock it a star. I included a picture of the tower after we finished putting it together. This was before we put the swings and other items together ... show more

  • Great play set, need an impact driver
Style: Deluxe Playset
We got this for our kids, 11 and 5. They both think it is great. We assume the older will use it more for the monkey bars and pull-ups before long, but for now he can still stand in it and use all pieces. Assembly was over three days, working probably 2-3 hours on day 1, 6 hours on day 2, and an hour on day 3 (for two people). Both of us are good with building things. You could do it all in one day if you were dedicated and prepared. Most of assembly is the tower (it is 6 of the 9 steps). The rest is pretty quick comparatively. The app helps for when the printed directions lack (when you need to know color, or when the pictures do not show where a sticker is located, the app does). And both directions are specific about when to use a drill. Three notes about assembly: 1. The Allen wrenches that come with the set strip by about half way through. You’ll need to keep them for the trick to get parts together, but also need your own for actually tightening. 2. The quarter inch nuts are not quarter inch… they’re the slightest bit bigger. You’ll need a metric wrench to tighten the safety anchors at the end. 3. An impact driver was pretty essential to the couple times you need to use self tapping metal screws into metal and plastic. It shows only a screwdriver on the instructions, but I think we would still be putting this thing together if we listened to that. Overall: the kids love it. When asked to name their fav parts, the five year old named every single piece. It’s big enough to feel big, strong enough to hold us, and already held up to a windstorm. ... show more
