  • Great Quality - Detailed Review Great Quality - Detailed Review
We shopped around quite a lot for a play set that gave us the best bang for our buck. This one took the cake pretty easily when we found it. We really enjoyed the esthetic and range of activities it provides. Build time: They are NOT exaggerating the building time on this set! My wife was 34 weeks pregnant when we started this, so she was only able to help on certain things. You can do 90% of this by yourself if you're resourceful, but many steps are either way easier with a quick hand. Overall, we had about 35-40 hours total for unboxing and assembly. We read other reviews and luckily took their advice in organizing ahead of time. We laid all the lumber out in alphanumeric order and then I organized the hardware by type and size. Just this step took us about 2 hours, but easily saved us more than that later. I used a very small box to pick out exactly what I needed for the current step so I wouldn't mess up my organization. This worked great for the first half of the build, but then when I started the 2nd story, climbing up and down became a huge time sink. My biggest regret is I messed with my organization to avoid climbing, and it ended up being a pain. The app was very helpful for a few confusing steps, but not necessary for most of them since the paper was pretty easy to follow. LESSON LEARNED: Get a few small containers that are easy to move and keep everything in them organized. I promise it will save you time and heartache. Also, having 1 person on the ground to get the parts for the next step helps keep you efficient - especially on the 2nd story part. Materials: Overall I was pretty happy with the quality of the materials. As an engineer and carpenter by trade, I was surprised at how accurate the hole locations etc were. Only place I had an issue was putting the swing bracket on the main unit, but I just wallowed out 1 of the holes in the direction I needed slightly. The wood is cedar so it does not require treating. It is naturally rot resistant- that's why it's so expensive! It's also lightweight so easy to adjust the assembly as you go even with a huge amount built. Wood was smooth and neither of us ever got a splinter. We really enjoyed the beautiful grain patterns in the lighter colors. Hardware was super overkill for the use - but that's not a bad thing. I'd rather it be oversized than under. Had to be careful to not over-drive the lag screws. Sometimes they wanted to strip the wood because it's so low density, but pretty easy to get a feel for that as you go. We did not have any missing pieces! In fact I have a box of extra since they give 2 extra of nearly everything just in case there's a problem. Fun: My 5 year old daughter was hyperventilating with excitement when this thing was ready. She was so excited to play on it! After several days she still is on it constantly - instead of getting into trouble elsewhere lol. Pros: Beautiful, safe, kid loves it, great instructions, quality materials, not too difficult to assemble. Cons: LOUD! Probably the wood settling in it's location, but this thing creaks like crazy when walked on or when swinging to a certain height. I expect this will get better over time - especially when the humidity drops and the wood contracts. Curly slide was a b%&#$ to put together. Too many things to hold and force into place. Maintenance will be needed to keep it nice. This is true of any wood set, but being cedar, it should last a very long time with proper care, and any damaged pieces can be replaced if you're handy. Overall, a great buy for the money, and like another reviewer said, your partner and kids will love you all the more for the hard work you put into this. Definitely a worthy investment in many ways. Stop looking and just buy this one. ... show more

  • Great playset
The playset was shipped promptly and reasonably easy to assemble. The kids love it and it has held up fairly well since we got it. We did notice some of the boards had some rot spots and hardware was stripped when taking it apart to replace. Requested some replacement boards and hardware to replace board rot and stripped hardware. They promptly ordered replacements without question. Excellent customer service service. ... show more

  • Parts don’t fit together correctly
The finished product is great and my kids love it but there were multiple parts where we had to cut the boards to get them to fit correctly. When we called customer service they said it was because the wood “swelled” and that our spacing was incorrect. But there were no disclaimers about the wood swelling if left outside (so keep everything inside before it’s put together). I can’t imagine that was actually the problem anyway because only the light colored wood had any issue. The dark was all fine. I will say that BILT app is pretty awesome as far as directions go and the finished product is on point. The structure creeked a lot when my husband was putting it together, but he weighs 250 lbs and it didn’t fall down when he was standing on it to finish the assembly. Overall I think it was a good purchase. ... show more

  • Detailed and honest review Detailed and honest review
First- we did buy some additional extras that did not come with this set: flag, colored rocks for the rock wall, colored grab handles. lights, and tic-tac-toe game. Okay- it took my dad and a friend 2 WHOLE days and 4 gallons of water sealer to spray ALL of the pieces prior to us assembling it all. It was a TON of work but will be well worth it to increase the "life" of this playset, especially with the humidity and rain here in FL. Organization is VERY important!! All of the pieces were very clearly labeled. Start by laying out ALL the pieces, we laid all the wood pieces in alphabetical and numerical order. Then we had two tables set out and put out all of the hardware on them in numerical order as well. This will help immensely when you are putting this together. The quality of the wood is what I think you would expect of a playset coming from China. It is cedar, if you know about wood, cedar is a soft wood, so using a hammer drill, or even an impact drill is a bit much for this project. Have a runner! Have someone that can grab all the pieces and hardware for the next step and have them ready to go. They can also help grab tools, dropped pieces, water, snacks, and sanity checks when needed. The instructions are VERY easy to read and understand. We tackled this by having 2 guys work on the main structure, 2 others building the non-structural pieces (slides, stairs, rock wall, swings, etc), and a runner helping the guys with the main structure. MOST all of the holes line up, however there were a few (less than 10) that did not line up, again, I think this would be expected of an item such as this. Overall, it went together pretty easy, I will say the tube slide was a bit of a pain to get in the opening and positioned correctly to screw it in. I think that the overall structure is pretty sturdy and will last for quite a while with regular maintenance and upkeep. We haven't had the rubber mulch delivered yet, but the kids will be excited to use it in the meantime. If you are looking for total hours to put this together, here is our break down: Day 1: 2 guys building the main structure- 8 hours 2 people building the other pieces- 5 hours Day 2: 2 guys building the main structure- 6 hours 2 people building other pieces- 4 hours Total hours to build the project with 4 people 23 hours. Lastly, I would say this playset is for kids 4-5+, the crows nest is pretty high up there for a toddler, and the stairs would be tricky for little legs and the rock wall would be a no for toddlers as the rocks are too far apart for their little legs. ... show more

  • Don't waste your time or money; you'll go crazy trying to figure it out.
This was a nightmare to setup and whoever cut the pieces and pre-drilled the holes was just lazy. Plus it came with missing parts and none of the wood was treated for outdoor use. 1. The directions are nearly impossible to follow. 2. Received 5 boxes with specific directions thinking all of parts in each box matched the corresponding directions, but all of the parts were randomly in all of the boxes. 3. Some of the pre-drilled holes didn't line up. 4. Some of holes were missing altogether. 5. None of the wood was cut in angles, so I had to cut them myself to make them fit. 6. None of the wood was treated, so I had to buy and apply sealer myself to preserve it. 7. Missing 16 bolts. ... show more

  • Perfect swingset
This thing is massive, it takes several days to build even with multiple people. It is extremely tall as well. My daughter loves it. She runs all over it. Feels ok as far as durability. I don’t think it will last 15 years but definitely a few at least. I think it’s worth the money spent

  • Save Your Money Buy a Rainbow Save Your Money Buy a Rainbow
I will start by saying I gave this product 3 stars because they do deliver what they say. A flat pack play set with all of the parts. However that the best I can say about it. To start let’s begin with the assembly time. There’s some discrepancy between the printed instructions and the app one says 24hrs the other says 30hrs. Either way they did not lie it’s going to take you damn near a full time jobs worth of work to put this thing together. I say this as a skilled carpenter aka I get paid to build stuff for a living. I bought this thinking Id save time on the design side and money as I tend to over build things and the price of lumber is through the roof right now. However if you don’t already have an impact driver and a drill at a bare minimum, just pay for assembly. You’ll spend more money on a decent set of those two items alone let alone the other things you’ll really need and the time. I will second what someone else has said. Do not use the cheap screws they send with the set go ahead and buy a 5lb box of 1 1/4” and 2 1/2” exterior screws. You’ll be much happier. On to the quality of the actual set. All Of the pieces are cut correct and have gone together as planned. Unfortunately they have found the absolute cheapest lumber possible To make this out of. This is the softest lumber possible and I expect to see it cracking very shortly. Also the cheap “stain” or paint whatever it is they put on it was already flaking off during assembly I’m scared to see what it will look like in a few months. Finally as you can see in the pictures I’ve attached where the swing beam attaches to The main structure is the soft wood I described above. I expect this connection to work loose over a very short time and I’ll be finding a way to rebuild it stronger. Also due to the unit being a “flat pack” product. The swing beam is not one solid piece and there’s a small block pieced together with a bracket. Just another weak point. Overall I’m not impressed and wished I would have just bit the bullet and bought a nicer set. ... show more

  • Absolutely buy this playground. Fun for the whole family.
I’ve had this a couple years. My 4-year old LOVES this playground. It holds me, I’m 6’-3”, and about 200 pounds. It does a great job keeping the baby occupied. With a friend, it takes two full days to assemble. Be prepared. Very durable, looks good, and I’d imagine it’ll be fun for the kids for many years to come. ... show more
