Funny had a Spaulding basketball system inground really nice. Backboard Lexan cracked and broke, year 4.5 of 5 on the warranty and told not covered, pay $254 again. In my mind never again with Spaulding. Replaced with this Lifetime option, looks nice and is better overall quality. BUT when arrived big letters on the box, mounting kit not included. Now I agree mounting kids vary and can be costly for sure. but all I needed was the Y looking bracket, 2 stamped pieces of Sheetmetal, should have been included. That Sheetmetal mounts to the backboard, not included and you have to buy the bigger kits about $109.00 adder. Lucky for me I saved the old mounting pole parts (4 plus years old) and those two Sheetmetal pieces was there. I drilled/elongated 2 holes and bam, in business, hung and operational. After purchasing this backboard, along with a lifetime universal mount, I no longer I have a relationship with my father. The turmoil from trying to follow the impossible directions was more than we could handle. I first purchased the Lifetime 73729 48 in. Shatter Proof Backboard Rim Combo and bought the Lifetime 9594 Universal Mounting Kit to go with it. I was as told it was compatible. That was an exaggeration. I had to use a kitchen knife to cut several parts to make things fit. The directions to mount the backboard were so long, complicated, and impossible. I called customer service a few times for assistance. The ladies I spoke with were helpful, but some of the steps were just so insane there was nothing they could do. You’ll know what I mean when you get to step 3 on page 6. How on earth are you supposed to get that second push nut on? Impossible. I called to confirm that I was following the directions. The customer service representative’s response was, “It’s supposed to be hard.” Well, then they nailed it. I really lost it when I finally got the rim attached to the backboard and had to then screw the plastic boarder around the rim. There were no pre-drilled holes in the backboard, so there was no way to get the screws into the metal. It said to use an electric screwdriver, which I tried, but there was no way those screws were going into the backboard. There were so many steps, so many missing pieces, so much heartache. SO many swear words. I think it would be impossible for anyone who is not in the construction industry to put this thing together. Luckily, the handyman is on the way. So, expect to pay another $100 to have this thing installed for you. ... show more

While the backboard itself looks to be good quality, when we removed the protective film we noticed a large divot (see pictures). Unfortunately this was post installation and there was no way I will be returning it. My advice, carefully inspect it before you mount it. Also, there were no instructions on mounting this backboard, so I had to search the internet to find some. This was a little more challenging than I thought as it's not easily discoverable on their website. Even with the manual, there were parts (washers and spacers) that lacked any explanation. So I had to guess where they went. They should provide a physical copy, and ammendun for the parts not described. ... show more

Great hoop for the price. Each set up is individualized so that may affect your set up experience. For me adding it to my garage was a simple set up process after buying the adjustable part. I have been able to dunk and hang on it.
