  • Pretty good basketball hoop
Style: Basketball System
This basketball hoop is a great value for the money. You won’t be getting anything super stable, but my kids love it. I highly recommend watching the YouTube video by Lifetime on assembling this particular unit. That video is significantly easier to follow than the manual. I would have preferred a thicker acrylic backboard. It’s a bit flimsier than I expected. Seems to be about 3/16 inch thick. Other than that, I’m pretty happy with it. ... show more

  • Great Hoop
Style: Basketball System
Looked around for a long time and decided to buy this. Extremely happy with the purchase. The assembly was as good as it can be (things like this will always be a bit of a pain). Takes a couple of people to assemble the final components. It's sturdy and looks great.

  • Some parts of the installation are confusing but overall a good product.
Style: Basketball System
Bought for my kid and he is enjoying the flexibility that we can adjust the height which is fairly easy for an adult.

  • Crooked Backboard. Disappointing Product support from Lifetime
Style: Basketball System
As others have stated, putting this thing together is tough. Armed with a YouTube video of it’s assembly, two of us got pretty far putting it together but then got stuck. We called the support line and after holding for awhile we got a nice tech support operator who helped us for an hour with the rest of the assembly. When finished, I noticed that the backboard was angling up at its lowest setting and angled down at it’s highest. I sent pics of it to the tech support guy and he told me that our hoop looked within their tolerance. So we left it as it was. Within a few weeks, my kids start to complain that the backboard isn’t straight. The winter was around the corner and lazy me didn’t do anything about it. Next spring comes around and my kids are complaining about the angled backboard so I contact lifetime support via email and write a lengthy explanation with pictures describing the problem. The email support person tried to figure it out and mailed me a bunch of parts that were exactly the same size as the parts I had. Support got another person involved who came to the conclusion that the backboard was stamped incorrectly and the holes for the support arms were not in the correct place. We would need to replace the backboard. Finally someone solved the issue. Then they tell me to pay $70 for shipping the replacement backboard. I told them I complained about this problem to the day we assembled it and was told it was within tolerance. Now I have to pay $70 more for their faulty product? I don’t think so, not in my lifetime. So now we have a $500 crooked basketball hoop. ... show more

  • great goal very solid backboard, way better than polycarbonate. Feels very close to regulation
Style: Basketball System
assembly wasnt too bad just follow the steps. the hardware is bagged up per step which makes it truly easy to stay organized with the right hardware at the right time. you really dont have to try and keep everything separated or go through separating and matching nuts, washers, and bolts they are already bagged together. Think there 3 or 4 steps each with their own hardware bag! ... show more

  • You're gonna need to use one of your wishes to get this thing together....so also buy a Genie.
Style: Basketball System
So, you want to get a basketball hoop? Nice! I recommend going ahead and buying a nearby NBA team or maybe just walking on to a local college program and using their basketball hoops. Not quite at that athletic level? Totally get it. Then I recommend going to a top college and getting a degree in structural engineering and designing your own steel framed hoop to build. No one can take away education! Whatever you do....know that all of those options are better than putting this hoop together! I say this knowing that it makes it appear as if we don't know how to put things together and let me just start out by saying that is not true. In fact we once owned a construction company so we know a thing or two about building things and thankfully own a tool or many for the efforts needed in this towering disaster. Heres the thing, it is sturdy! That's a good thing, right? Wrong. That metal is real and those bolts and nuts are not cheap...but the holes are all off and the instructions so hard to follow, as ummm...the holes are all off so what are instructions at that point. (maybe some of these come fabricated correctly and ours just wasn't...we aren't known for being lucky so it would be typical that we got one of those that are off. But, if you read these reviews, it doesn't appear like we are much in the minority there.) We had to drill new holes or make existing ones large than they were. We had to go buy longer bolts. I don't know what else he bought at the hardware store but he went there a lot.... We had to hammer metal (I don't know how but a hammer was involved way more than any basketball hoop direction has ever intended...) and I am going to stop there as I'm just the wife/mom writing this review and during most of the build process, decided that it was best for our family if I just left my husband out there alone (poor guy) to go through the motions in this build, but this is no one person job! I lifted that backboard more times that I have ever wanted to lift a backboard in my lifetime. I held that pole in random angles more than my skeletal frame could prior allow. And more poor husband, well he did more. In the end, it is up. They are outside playing horse and I swear if our son doesn't just let him win the first 200 times after what he went through to get those braces on that pole and that pole up in the are and that hoop on the top of it all, then no more xbox for him. Ever! Last but not least, why would they put the sand/water opening on the bottom/side??? Why not put that on top, like, where gravity is? Get dry sand. Also a funnel. And a hammer. Or get an NBA team. I give it 2 stars for the genie who was a super nice guy. ... show more

  • So hard to assemble
Style: Basketball System
So excited to get this hoop for my son finally. Honestly took 3 adults 6 hours to assembly. It really is such a pain to put together and as others have mentioned holes did not line up easily. We finally realized to loosed a few bolts and then we could foot pieces better and then tighten at the end. Directions were horrible even the pictures were so small and the packages for the bolts and pieces weren’t labeled so you had to basically wing it with what you thought went into each piece. Delivery was very fast however and now that it’s finally together my son is having a blast. ... show more

  • Very pleased
Style: Basketball System
Was a little hesitant based on reviews about assembly. I did 90% of this by myself. My 17 year old helped me with a couple steps where I needed more than one person. Good directions and easy assembly. Probably took me about 3-4 hours to do. Hole to fill with sand could be bigger as that took 1.5 hours as sand was a little wet. Overall very happy with this purchase. ... show more
