  • Solid Unit - Works Well - Great Value - Happy With It
Size: 24,500 BTU
Reviews are meant to be about the equipment itself, not about other related experiences like delivery, but I'm going to add a caution here. This is a big heavy unit, shipping weight is 146 lbs. Bear in mind that this unit is going to be handled by a single person on its journey. That means it's going to be end over ended a fair amount. The packaging is quite strong, but it will get knocked around a fair bit on its way to you. My first unit was a bit banged up but the unit only had minor cosmetic damage but unfortunately after I'd installed it, with much hard work, it didn't work! Bugger! And that was at the start of a heatwave. I called out LG under warranty because I didn't want the hassle of returning it, and we discovered that the fan was jammed against the housing. It had to be returned. If you return something to Amazon, it has to be packaged, and fortunately I'd kept the packaging. It was no easy feat to repackage but I got it done. The unit was replaced quickly and the replacement packaging was banged up too, but the unit was fine. So what's the message here? Just be aware that it's big and heavy and it may get damaged in transit. Keep the packaging and test the unit before you waste time and energy on installing it! On the plus side, the $100 shipping is free with prime and it comes to your door. As to the unit itself, it's performed very well so far. It was a tight fit but the side covers slot into the window frame and the unit ends up very well sealed, top bottom and sides. My old Fridgidaire was more heavily engineered and had nicer directional vents and had infinitely variable fan speed but the heavier engineering was in areas that don't really matter. And the paint on the casing was heavier which is a plus. Overall, I'm happy with it. The return was a pain, especially during a heatwave, but it works well, the price was good, it's relatively quiet and the performance is up to snuff. The previous one lasted 18 years. Hopefully this one does as well. ... show more

  • Short lived
Size: 24,500 BTU
Worked great for about 2 months then broke and won't move any air at all

  • GYAT DAYMMM!!
Size: 24,500 BTU
24000 btu packs a punch. Only option I had cause the cheap 5000-8000 ones couldn’t cool nothing. Trailer living ain’t no joke on hot summers when central ac has torn up hvac tubes under the house. Cools living room and kitchen with ease and energy saver is really handy, turning off when desired temp has been achieved. ⚠️Bad side of my situation is it took me a while to get it running due to it requiring 240v 20 amp breaker. Had to rig up some contraption to steal the dryer outlet.⚠️ Bit noisy but worth the sacrifice in my opinion and unless your HE-man or work out it more than likely requires 2 people to set up. ... show more

  • Powerful, but problematic install and lack of features impede full score. (230v 24k BTU)
Size: 24,500 BTU
To start this was one of very few products on the market that had what I needed and honestly I would have much rather had a move and cool unit but they max out at 12k btu and my home office produces around 20k btu when under load. I have a small "data center" in my office with three extremely powerful servers that need a substantial amount of cooling to keep running. When Idle my power usage is fine but when rendering or running a LLM I can quickly pull over 6kw and maintain that load for hours. The solution is this guy, a rare high BTU unit. This high BTU is facilitated by the use of 208v+ letting the unit pull far more power at saine amperage. So on a purely technical level this does what it sets out to do keeping my office cool while I krank out projects. Where things are not as rosy is the installation and feature set. Installation - This guy is stupid heavy do not even think about attempting the steps to setup with a helper. Also be prepared for some of the worst instructions you have seen in quite some time. Diagrams do a terrible job of depicting the steps needed and the process will make jumps that either require you go back and undo a prior step or spend far too long trying to figure out why parts don't fit. I found that the tolerance for several parts were simply off and required filing the paint off to get the screws to seat correctly. Additionally the guide and installation assumes that you have a flat window with no window seals or guides. To actually complete the install I had to build out a wooden base to have a level area to screw the unit into. Honestly I am glad that I ended up building that out as the included screws felt far to small to adequately hold the weight of this unit. The majority of the weight is supported by the three screws in the center of the unit and under "most" installs would be biting into questionable support. couple that with the sub 1.5" screws and I just did not have a great feeling about it all. I recommend going and grabbing a few heavier screws for that peace of mind. Features - Unfortunately this is a major pain point for me. I was previously using a move and cool unit before my cooling needs expanded and it could not keep up. That unit had a great build with a very comprehensive cooling mode that would actively cycle the fan and cooling to ensure that everything remained balanced. The LG on the other hand is deprived of any such luxury and you will get a grand total of three constant fans speeds. You also have a fixed vent (not motorized) so it can struggle to properly circulate the room. All in if you are in the market buy this, it is the only product on the market currently and does the job. Until they start making move and cool units (not the industrial units) that is in the 20k btu range I don't think we are going to get much better than this. ... show more

  • Works, hopefully for a long while.
Size: 24,500 BTU
Got this because the 30 year old 25,000btu window unit iny old house finally failed. This AC is really good and cools really well. I'm a bit nervous about it though. - Sounds like water sloshing when it turns on but none is visible anywhere. - The blower fan was crooked a bit when I first got it (possibly a drop during shipping) but it was easy to push into the correct position. - The front of the unit was dented despite there being no damage on the box itself so the dent had to be from the manufacturer. Had to use plyers to bend the metal into place so the front cover could be attached. - For some reason the clean filter light has been lit up since a week after using it despite the filter still being as clean as when it was taken out of the box. ... show more

Size: 24,500 BTU
Dry disapointed, I paid two carpenters to install the unit, after install it never blew cold air. I had to start a return with Amazon. Well today they came to remove it but instead of handling this heavy unit in whole they removed the unit from the sleeve that’s in the hole and come to find out the unit was used. I have to pay outa pocket for this, not rite! ... show more
