  • Perfect btu 5k
Style: 5,000 BTU
Absolutely fantastic unit. I got the 5k btu and I am sooo pleased. I have a 2 floor 1000 square foot house and it cools my first floor SO well. That's about 500 sq ft. I was afraid the btu wouldn't be sufficient but I was wrong. In this heat wave I still have to sometimes turn off the AC because it gets too cold lol. Or at least turn it down or grab a blanket. It is also quiet, not any louder than the vents when the HVAC is on. It is also light and I had no problem installing on my flimsy windows. Only bad thing is that the plug was jammed into the grill in the back of the AC when it was shipped. So there a bit of damage to the grill. About 1.5 inches of it is quite bent. I almost sent it back afraid this would hurt it's efficiency but it was hot and I had visitors coming so I left it. Glad I did cause it works fine! ... show more

  • Fantastic product exactly as specified
Style: 5,000 BTU
Thank you so much Midea and Amazon. Really great product. I love it. Total coolness, relief and happiness. Works perfectly. I have to move with it every time I will need relocation as a civil engineer.

  • Good , inexpensive unit
Style: 5,000 BTU
I've only had this a few days. My room specs are larger than the recommended square footage for proper cooling. It cools my area really well. It doesn't push out a lot of cold air but it does push it out . Id say i can feel a temperature change in about 10 mins or so . On very hot days, it keeps my area very comfortable and cool for me. So far no complaints. It comes with foam to seal around the unit/ window to minimize cool loss and is very effective. I can't speak to durability because I've not had it long enough but it's basically a plastic construct. I definitely would not recommend accidentally dropping it. It would be completely shattered. ... show more

  • They are LOUD but they get the job done.
Style: 5,000 BTU
We bought two of these in 2025 and are on our second year and they’ve worked great to beat the heat. They get extremely cold. The one thing I don’t like is how horribly loud the fan is. I’d love to have ours on at night but I need noise silencing headphones to do that. Over all I’m happy with this purchase. Yes they are heavy so there has to be exterior reinforcement. No WiFi connectivity so no worrying about that. ... show more

  • It works!
Style: 5,000 BTU
Works great so far. We've had it for several months. It does leak a TON of condensation (in very humid South Texas), so you'll need something under it outside. We just put a plant pot, and that looks/works fine. As for cooling, it makes our living area cold when it's 90°+ outside, so I'd say it works. It's not going to cool a whole house though. We have one in the living area, one in a bedroom, and we need one in another bedroom at the other end of the house. Three would keep a 3 bed house cold. ... show more

  • This is great
Style: 5,000 BTU
This window unit is absolutely perfect for smaller rooms! It has a compact design that doesn't look bulky or eyesore-ish in the window. Despite its smaller size, it cools down the space incredibly fast and runs quietly enough that it doesn't disturb my sleep. It was super easy to install, and the controls are very straightforward to use. If you need an efficient, space-saving cooling solution for a bedroom or small office, I highly recommend this one! ... show more

  • An absolute BEAST of a little A/C unit!!!!
Style: 5,000 BTU
Wow!!! I got this small window unit (intended to cool only 150 sq. feet of space) for the living room of my apartment to replace an older GE unit of the same specs that had died after only 1 year of use. I had honestly never heard of the brand Midea before and was a little skeptical, but noticed all the positive reviews and decided to take a chance on this. So glad I did! Despite its small size and specs for "only" having enough BTUs to cool 150 sq. feet of space, this little unit is an ABSOLUTE BEAST. (Note: I am using it in conjunction with a 10,000 BTU A/C on the 2nd floor of my apartment.) My entire apartment is around 1,200 sq. feet. By using a 10,000 BTU A/C (which happens to be an LG brand) on the upstairs floor and this 5,000 BTU Midea unit on the 1st floor, I am able to maintain my entire apartment at a consistent temp of 66 degrees.....even when it is 90 degrees outside. Pretty impressive! The Midea definitely outperforms other brands of the same BTU that I have used in past summers. For example, with previous (other brand) 5,000 BTU units and the exact same configuration (i.e. - a 10,000 BTU unit running upstairs and a different brand of 5,000 BTU running downstairs), I have only been able to get the temp in the apartment down to 68-70 degrees, depending on how hot it is outside. Again, the Midea --- with the temp outside between 85-90 the past few days --- has been solidly maintaining the temp in my apartment at a crisp 66 degrees: pretty impressive! I am supposing that when the temp outside rises to 100+, it may creep up to 68 or so (we shall see), but even so, this little unit is already performing way better than any other previous brand of the same BTU. The other thing I love about the Midea is the speed at which it brings the temp down the first 2-3 degrees. Consistently each day, when I start the unit, the temp in my apartment comes down by 2-3 degrees within the first 20-40 minutes. That is fast! Thereafter, I have observed that the Midea continues to bring the temp down by about 2 degrees per hour, bottoming out at 65-66 degrees, a very respectable low temp. This holds true even when we are cooking in the kitchen 20 feet away, or working out in the living room (generating body heat, etc.). After such a positive initial experience with this brand, I have purchased 2 more A/C units by Midea --- one other 5,000 BTU, and also a 6,000 BTU. I highly recommend this brand for the price. As I said before, it clearly outperforms other brands at similar BTU levels. Only drawback is it's a bit noisy, but honestly I will take noisy for this level of cool comfort. ... show more

  • Great Product, but can come with defects.
Style: 5,000 BTU
[Edit] Every setting below 6 stopped working for low and high modes a couple days after installation. Will update if new unit ever arrives. [Update] I thought I could get the unit picked up from my place, but that is not the case. I'm stuck with a defective unit because it is WAY too heavy to carry to the post office. (Conclusion) I still have faith in this seller. They DO have pickup but ONLY for refund, not for swapping units with a new one which is WILD to me. It seems they should do the opposite. The refund amount is small if you choose to keep it WHICH I DID because the agony of carrying the thing up flights of stairs and then installing it on a hot day is way too much for me to bare. [Final Opinion] I had a horrible experience, but the unit doesn't seem shabby or anything. I believe that this seller likely sells quality products more often than not, and the ones that work are likely amazing. Be careful with your purchase, and make sure you have the ability to return the item. This thing COULD break down at any moment, but it feels, looks, and sounds like it was crafted to last at LEAST a year or two which is about as much as I can hope for at this price (lower than the usual rate of an AC recharge). I got this after reading the reviews because I was desperate for low cost cooling that didn't have me running to refill it every few hours so I can study uninterrupted. For me it cooled down in about 10 minutes, and mad the room unbearably cold within an hour. I really hope this thing is sturdy because it is a MONSTER!!! To put things in perspective I bought a portable ac unit last year which broke down after just one summer of use (or needed recharge "uncertain") The portable AC blew hot air out the back, and at max settings struggled to cool my room 5-10 degrees F. I'm scared to even use this thing at max settings because It's at setting 4/7 on low cooling and my room cooled off 20 degrees within an hour. ... show more
