My bedroom is the hottest room in the house it’s always about 2-4 degrees warmer in there. So adding this was perfect because I didn’t want to spend $1800 on a mini split. The window plastic attachment is not super high quality. Definitely opportunity for improvement. The seal stuff sticks too well, annoyingly well. I’d recommend using a plywood sheet and cutting your own eventually is what I plan on doing. Noise, this thing is loud, I have to crank my tv to 20, normally I listen to it on 7-8 at night but the noise is relaxing and ambient if you like fan noises. It actually puts me to sleep quicker and not waking up hot and sticky without having to freeze the entire house out is clutch af. Recommend would buy again. I do have to say I purchased a used/good one and my caster wheels were busted upon arrival, this thing is light and I don’t plan on moving it around so I just removed the wheels. I like how the top opens and the remote seems to be responsive even when lying down without a direct line of sight. ... show more

I had my doubts about splurging on this AC but as hot as it is in my college dorm, I decided to take my chances. This air conditioner is honestly great! It’s definitely a bit noisy, but I don’t mind— it’s kind of like white noise to me. If you’re looking for a super quiet air conditioner maybe consider a different one. It definitely helped me keep my room cool and I don’t regret purchasing it. (Worth mentioning my room is on the smaller side, I’m not sure how effective this would be for a large room.) I had no problems with installation since the instructions are pretty straightforward. Overall, I’m glad I bought it! This unit works great but it is not a good value. I have not set it up this summer because of how much it adds to the light bill. Instead, I have used 2- 1000 BTU in-window a/c's which have done just as good a job, if not better.

Wish I'd returned in time - as horrendous a task as that would be to accomplish. It's obnoxious and gigantic and the packaging in abysmal. Seriously, the "box" isn't sealed, there's a giant top portion that just lifts off of a tiny bottom piece, unsecured except for some packing... twine? The box had dents and gouges, and I noticed later the Styrofoam lining the bottom pieces had split in a bunch of places from the stress of transit. I didn't open it until a day or two before what it turns out would have been my return date - I'd had a death in the family. Worse I discovered that even though I'd bought "new" it was clearly a return - missing bits (especially egregious: the screws for locking the adjustable window fitting in place), some bits preassmnbled, items shoved in a different place than intented. I can't fault whoever returned it - although it's absolutely galling it was sold to me as new instead of discounted as a warehouse item. The unit itself is wretched. Massive issues with the way it was programmed, and some features require the remote - no, it's not documented. It *will* get confused between setting changes between the remote and on-unit controls. For some reason I can only sometimes adjust the temp for the AC; it wouldn't change at all, then only to 67. After fiddling a bunch I got it to go down,, but byaccident lucked into an odd... feature? It dropped to 61 instead at which point it'll stay on continuously regardless of temp. However, well before that I discovered that my unit, at least, produces the most ungodly smell when running for more then a few minutes. And yes, it's extremely noisy except in fan-only mode. It's absolutely obnoxious in terms of size: portable is a joke. The power cable is a touch short, but the real issue is the exhaust hose length, which is actually very short and unforgiving. It despises fitting in place properly on the unit itself and into the window blocker. The sealing materials are an absolute joke. My advice READ THE DIRECTIONS and go through the packing material before you throw anything out. Most helpful was a cheat sheet that explains the noises the unit makes when in use. This cooled my apartment down after the Pacific NW Heatwave and I was happy to have that, but I'm sure it will do great under higher temps as well. It does make noise, but it's not deafening and after awhile it's easy to tune out. My window is tall and opens from the side so I had to improvise with the window kit. It's such a basic design that doing that was easy. I used duct tape in some spots and I didn't have to remove my screen I'd highly recommend this unit! ... show more

I have mixed feelings about this AC. I purchased a 10,000 BTU air conditioner on October 10th, which was noticeably quieter than the previous brand I owned. Impressed with its performance, I ordered another one on November 5th. As the weather got colder, I stored them away right after I received the 2nd one without opening it. This past weekend, we experienced unexpectedly hot weather with temperatures reaching 95°F. However, when I unboxed the brand new air conditioner, it only blew room temperature air. Amazon customer service assisted me in receiving a replacement, which is now on its way to me. So five stars for the first one, and 0 stars for the 2nd one. I also ordered 2 more of them on Black Friday sale. Oh well. Great price. ... show more
