I needed support in the shower as the stall is small and I have a hard time manipulating in it with my health issues. These bars help me keep my balance and prevent me from falls, especially when exiting the stall. I cannot say enough positive things about them. They were very easy to install and are extremely sturdy. I am so relieved to have found them as I live in an over 55 apartment and would have had to pay a few hundred dollars to have something installed. These were well worth the money. I am more than pleased with this purchase and highly recommend them. The only negative was that they arrived with no instructions; however, I was able to find them on the Amazon site.

Suction is outstanding. The pads do not overlap the base of the handle as other shower handles do: They are exactly the same size. As one pad does not line up with the base as the leaver is pushed in, it needs to be guided so it is not off center. Once on, it will not shift.

I had a minor problem with my order, but seller resolved it very quickly. Something I don't see mentioned much is that even if your need is for a heavy duty grab bar bolted into studs, a suction-cup grab bar like this can help you determine exactly where to place the bolted-on grab bar, so you don't drill holes in your tiles and then find out it is not quite the perfect place.

These grab bars are a great temporary solution for a ceramic tile walled bathroom. I now have three of these to assist in getting up from the toilet and in & out of the shower/tub. After I'm healed from surgery, they are coming down. The suction cup material is very soft and sticky. It makes a very good bond to a smooth and clean ceramic tile. But I have found at least one of the cups doesn't hold over a 24-hour period. So I test them before applying a load on them first. If I needed a more long term solution, I would get grab bars that are permanently attached to the wall. Don't throw away the plastic caps for the suction cups these are shipped with. After use, put them back on to protect the suction cup material from getting contaminated. These are worth keeping for the next surgery. :)
