I had been looking for a deadbolt lock with Apple Home connectivity for some time and decided on this one due to how it looks and some reviews I had read here and elsewhere. I'm very glad I purchased this one. The finish on the lock matches my existing hardware perfectly! My installation was a little trickier than what most will likely experience as in order for the existing deadbolt to work you have to push the door in a bit so I needed to address that which took a little time. And based on how the existing strike plate was attached, I had to remove the trim around the door frame to get it off without damaging anything. Once those two things were done, it was a pretty simple matter to follow the included instructions to install the Level Lock + deadbolt. There are a fair number of steps, but if you're patient it's no trouble at all. Everything needed is included: all the needed screws, two different sizes of strike plates, a battery, everything (please refer to the included pictures). Once the physical lock was installed, I downloaded the app and followed the relatively straightforward instructions to link it up with Apple Home on my phone. For me, this is always the trickier part, but it worked very smoothly and the app is easy to use. Also included are a couple of actual keys in case you have to leave one somewhere for someone to get in (pet sitters, contractors, etc.) or, I assume, for if the battery dies before you replace it. But if you stay on top of that it should really never be an issue. It is important to note that the battery is easy and fast to replace without having to take the lock all apart. There are a couple of key fobs as well for those without the app. As I'm an Apple guy, I did not try to hook it up with Alexa, but I have to assume it would be about as easy as it was to set it up in Apple Home. I was not working at a super fast pace when I installed the lock and set it up, so I would estimate the whole process took about 2 1/2 hours or so to complete from opening the box and reading the instructions to done. Most will likely have an easier time than I did as I had a few extra things to address before I could actually get down to the business of installing the lock. It is definitely an attractive and easy-to-use lock that I would recommend to anyone looking to upgrade and modernize the security of their home. I'll be buying a second one for my other door soon!
