Tesla vehicles require a J1772 to Tesla adapter (not included)
  • NEMA 14-50 Plug-In Installation: This 40A level 2 ev charger is equipped with a NEMA 14-50 plug and requires a compatible EV-graded 14-50 outlet connected to a 50A circuit breaker. The unit features a built-in GFCI protection system. For best performance, it is recommended to use a non-GFCI NEMA 14-50 outlet to avoid potential nuisance trips. The plug-in design allows quick installation without hardwiring, making it ideal for most residential garages
  • ETL/UL Certified EV Charger: Built to meet rigorous safety standards, this ev charger is ETL listed to UL-2594 standards/CSA-C22.2 No. 280. The ev charger level 2 is rated IP65 waterproof, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor installations, and also complies with FCC standard

Description

Which vehicles is this charger compatible with? This charger features a J1772 connector and is compatible with all J1772-equipped EVs and plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHEVs) in North America. Tesla vehicles can also be charged with a J1772 to Tesla adapter. What type of outlet and breaker are required for installation? An EV-graded NEMA 14-50 outlet and a 50A dedicated circuit breaker are recommended. Since the charger already has a built-in GFCI, we do not recommend installing an additional GFCI outlet, as having both may lead to nuisance tripping. How do I connect the charger to the app? First, pair your phone with the charger via Bluetooth. Then connect the charger to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network in the app to complete the setup. How do I enable Plug & Play mode? Plug & Play mode must be enabled in the app (Scheduled Charging Page). Once activated, you can start charging without using the app or an RFID card. How can I contact Grasside Team if I need help? You can reach Grasside team anytime via email or Amazon Message Center. Whether you need help with setup, troubleshooting, or product-related questions, we're always here to help you.

  • Great Level 2 ev charger
Size: 40
I’m an electrician, and I’ve been very happy with this unit so far. It’s well-built, works exactly as it should, and overall has been a solid Level 2 charger. I’d definitely recommend it. Some people might wonder why I didn’t go with a big name like ChargePoint or Tesla. For me, it really comes down to practicality and value. Here’s why I chose this one and my experience so far (about a week of use): 1. Safety & certifications matter most This was my top priority. It’s fully certified (UL & ETL), which means it’s been tested to strict safety standards. I also took a closer look at the internal build and wiring—everything is clean, well-organized, and honestly pretty impressive from a workmanship standpoint. 2. Cable quality & thermal performance I’ve installed a lot of EV chargers for other people, so I’ve handled quite a few different cables. This one stands out—very pliable, easy to work with, and clearly marked with proper certifications. After a couple of charging sessions, I also noticed it runs cooler than some other units I’ve used. I actually reached out to support about that, and they explained it’s due to updated internal design/efficiency. Whether that’s the reason or not, lower operating temps are always a good sign and give me more confidence in long-term safety. 3. App experience is smooth The app has been surprisingly solid—fast, stable, and easy to use. I’ve seen plenty of customers struggle with apps even on bigger brands like Tesla or ChargePoint, so I wasn’t expecting much here. But so far, no disconnects or glitches. It also tracks charging usage, which is helpful if you want to keep an eye on monthly electricity costs. 4. Good value for the price The pricing is very reasonable, especially considering it comes with a 3-year warranty. After a week of use, I feel like I made the right call. Overall, if you’re looking for a reliable Level 2 charger that just works without the usual headaches, this is a great option. (For clarity, I used AI to assist with writing this longer review, but all feedback reflects my real-world experience. I’ll continue to update if needed) ... show more

  • This EV Charger is a winner. Highly recommended.
Size: 40
I just received the Grasside Level 2 wall-mounted home charger yesterday. It was easy to install worked flawlessly immediately. I also downloaded the Grasside app and found it intuitive. I also like the easy way to schedule charging hours so I can ensure I’m charging in the middle of the night when rates are their lowest (see the picture below of the app interface.) Notice that I only charge between 11:30 PM and 6:00 AM. My only caution is that if you own a Tesla, as I do, you will have to purchase a J1772 to Tesla adapter. It fits on the end of the charging wand (see picture.) The one I purchased cost about $30. The J1772 connection is a standard used by many other EV manufacturers. It is handy to have the adapter for Tesla available in case you need to use someone else’s charger not designed for Tesla. ... show more

  • Well-Built Level 2 Charger with Plenty of Control Options
Size: 40
This is a really nice Level 2 charger, and I especially like that it gives you several ways to control how and when you charge instead of forcing you to use an app for everything. You can simply plug in and charge, use the button on the unit, control it through the app, or even use the RFID cards if you want to prevent someone else from using it. At 40 amps, it can provide up to 9.6kW on a 240V circuit, which is plenty for home charging. I also like that the current is adjustable. You can select 16, 24, 32, or 40 amps directly from the charger, with even finer 10-40A adjustment available through the app. That's useful if you don't always want or need to charge at maximum power. The construction is impressive. The metal enclosure feels much more substantial than some of the plastic EV chargers I've seen, and the 25-foot cable gives you plenty of freedom when deciding where to mount it in the garage. The IP65 rating also makes outdoor installation an option. Installation is relatively simple since this version uses a NEMA 14-50 plug rather than requiring the charger itself to be hardwired. Of course, a 40A continuous EV load requires the proper 50A circuit and a correctly installed, EV-rated 14-50 receptacle. This is one place where I wouldn't cheap out on the outlet or electrical installation. The smart features are actually useful too. Scheduling charging for off-peak hours can potentially save money depending on your electric company's rate plan, and being able to see charging status and history from the app is convenient. My only minor complaint is that the Wi-Fi is 2.4GHz only, although that's still pretty common with smart devices. Pros: 40A/9.6kW charging capability, adjustable charging current, 25-foot UL-listed cable, substantial metal enclosure, plug-and-charge option, app and RFID control, scheduled charging, NEMA 14-50 plug, IP65 rating, ETL listed to UL 2594. Cons: Wi-Fi only supports 2.4GHz, and you'll need a properly installed 50A circuit and quality NEMA 14-50 receptacle to take advantage of the full 40A output. Overall: This is a very complete home EV charging setup. It's powerful without being unnecessarily complicated, and I appreciate that the smart features are optional rather than required just to charge the car. Between the 40A output, long cable, metal construction, adjustable current, and multiple control options, I'm very happy with it. ... show more

  • Efficient Smart WiFi EV Charger That Makes Managing Energy Costs Simple
Size: 40
This Grasside Level 2 EV charger is a solid piece of hardware that gets the job done without any unnecessary fluff. This uses a NEMA 14-50 plug. You don't need to mess around with complex hardwiring if you already have a compatible outlet set up for a 50A circuit breaker. The instructions are clear and the mounting process only takes a few minutes once you have your drill ready. It’s a very efficient setup that doesn't require an electrician if your home is already prepped for high-voltage EV charging. Performance wise, it delivers on its promise of 40A charging. I tested the smart app features and the WiFi connectivity was snappy. The app lets you control the amperage which is great if you need to throttle down the power during peak hours to save on electricity costs. It uses a 2.4GHz band so make sure your router is positioned well, but once it's connected, the real-time monitoring works perfectly. You can see exactly how much juice you're pulling and for how long. The cable length is a huge plus here. At 25 feet, it gives you plenty of slack to reach different charging ports without having to park your car in a very specific, awkward spot every single time. The cable itself feels robust and doesn't tangle easily, which is important when you're dealing with heavy-duty electrical cords. It’s built to handle being pulled and moved around daily without showing signs of wear. Pros: Sturdy metal construction that feels like it will last years. Long 25ft cable provides great flexibility for parking. App control makes managing energy costs very simple. Plug-and-play design with NEMA 14-50 is super convenient. IP65 waterproof rating works well for outdoor mounting. Cons: The app requires a 2.4GHz WiFi connection specifically. ... show more

  • EV usage
Size: 48
The EV has been advertised with an App to use. The App is not available in specific countries. Therefore it has reduced value in performance and convenience.

  • Smart Level 2 charger with useful access controls and flexible charging options.
Size: 40
This is a review of the "Level 2 EV Charger, 40A J1772 Home Charger, ETL/UL Certified, NEMA 14-50 Plug 240V, 25FT Charging Cable, WiFi App/RFID Card, Waterproof Indoor/Outdoor, Mental Case Wall Charger (Button Ver.)" that was priced at $369.99 at the time of this review. I picked this up for home charging and was immediately impressed by the overall build quality. The metal enclosure feels much more substantial than the plastic housings commonly found on many residential chargers, and it gives the unit a durable, professional appearance. Installation is straightforward if you already have a suitable NEMA 14-50 outlet available. The 25-foot charging cable provides plenty of reach and makes it easy to access the vehicle without needing to park in the exact same position every time. One feature I particularly like is the flexibility of the charging controls. You can use simple plug-and-charge operation for maximum convenience, or enable RFID card access and app controls when you want additional security. That's especially useful if the charger is installed in a shared parking area or an accessible outdoor location. The WiFi app provides useful charging information and allows for scheduling charging sessions during off-peak electricity hours. Being able to adjust charging current settings is also helpful for matching the charger to different electrical setups and charging needs. The charging handle feels sturdy and comfortable to use, and the overall system has operated reliably. The weather-resistant design is reassuring for installations where the charger may be exposed to outdoor conditions. Overall, this is a well-built Level 2 home charger with solid construction, smart features, flexible access controls, and a long charging cable. It offers a nice combination of everyday convenience and advanced functionality for EV owners looking for a permanent home charging solution. ... show more

  • Boring In The Best Possible Way
Size: 40
The highest compliment you can pay a home charger is that you forget it exists. This one earned that. Installation was fifteen minutes of hanging a bracket. If you already have a proper NEMA 14-50 outlet on a 50 amp breaker, you plug it in and you're charging. If you don't, that's an electrician conversation, not a charger problem. The adjustable current setting is the feature people overlook. If you're borrowing a 30 amp dryer circuit with an adapter, dial it down to 24 amps and you're safe instead of tripping breakers all night. Real world it puts back roughly 30 to 40 miles per hour at the full 9.6kW, which means an overnight charge covers basically any normal day. Build quality is a step above what I expected. The metal case feels substantial, the IP65 rating means it lives outside without drama, and the 25 foot cable reaches across a two car garage. Fair warning, that cable is thick and heavy, and it stiffens up in cold weather. That's physics, not a defect. The app connects to 2.4GHz WiFi only, which trips people up on modern mesh routers, so split your bands or use the guest network. Off peak scheduling has quietly saved real money. The RFID card is a nice touch if your outlet is somewhere the neighbors can reach it. ETL and UL certified, which is the part I would not compromise on. ... show more

  • Fast Installation & Stable Charging
Size: 48
I decided to go with the 48A hardwired version because I wanted the fastest charging available for my home. I hired a licensed electrician to install it, and he was actually impressed with how simple the installation was. The charger mounts directly to the wall with just three screws, so there's no extra mounting bracket to deal with. Even better, the hardwire connection is already built into the charger, so there was no need to open it up or assemble anything before wiring. My electrician told me it was one of the easiest EV chargers he's ever installed. The included holster was a nice bonus. It keeps both the charging cable and connector neatly organized, and it only took a few minutes to mount. From start to finish, the entire installation was completed in about 10 minutes. I've been using it for several weeks now, and the charging has been completely stable with no interruptions or errors. The app has also been easy to use, with reliable WiFi connectivity and useful scheduling features. Overall, this charger feels thoughtfully designed from installation to daily use, and I'm very happy with my purchase. ... show more
