For years when I’ve left my little office to commute back home (across my back yard)… it’s always been super dark, especially when we forget to turn on the porch light on the house (about 15 steps away). I think my wife turns the light off just because. :) I have power in my office but didn’t want to run it to the outside (it’s sound proof). This light has been great! Even in the bitter cold, when I leave, or the dogs go out, it lights up the entire yard. Our porch light isn’t even close to the brightness of this light. I have used the two head models at work and very satisfied with their performance with what they needed to illuminate. I got this 3 head unit for my home to light up the drive where cars are parked. Installation was a breeze, setup was easy. A slight tweak after dark to aim the sensor was all that was required. Provides great lighting for camera system to get terrific photos of anyone coming into yard up driveway. I have an open area between my house and my garage that has a pergola that made installing a built in solar security light wouldn't work. This security light with motion detection and a separate making it possible since I can put the solar panel in the area that gets most of the sun exposure during the day The light seemed to be made of good material. Access to the rechargeable battery is easy so if the battery degrade, it can be easily replaced. The three sections of the security light is making it easy to adjust and point the light to wider area or specific corners. The area that I am using is about 10 across the light and 30 feet wide and I got sufficient brightness from this light. I've have two of these solar lights for over 4 years now and they are still going strong. I just bought some new lights that most reviewers claim to be really bright. They are OK but not as bright as these even with 4 year old glazed lenses. The motion detection is really sensitive too which makes this an overall great light. Is it as bright as a 120v wired light, probably not but for what it is, it's great. ... show more

The motion detector works well and you just need to follow the directions for set up. I like that you can mount the solar panel anywhere. The battery last the whole night for motion detection and is not meant to stay on the continuously

I installed this light 18 months ago & it's still working great. One of the best motion detector lights I've purchased. I have one I bought from Home Depot & another I bought from Costco, this light is by far the best one. It's very bright (1600 lumens) & easy to set up, the solar panel is pretty strong & is mounted on my roof, I mounted the light about 8ft high & set it at the middle sensitivity setting, it works great! Picks up a human (or even a feral cat) as soon as they enter the side yard (about 15ft either side of the light) & the light illuminates the whole yard. I am going to get another one for our back yard to replace the cheap Costco one that has crapped out after less than 6 months. Edit: I read that one reviewer said he thinks his lights come on during the day because they don't work at night so the battery must be drained, in the 3 years I've had these lights I have NEVER seen mine on during the day. They have a built in light sensor that prevents them operating during daylight. UPDATE::::: 2/8/2023. The original light I bought in May of 2021 is still going as good as ever so I bought another one for the front yard (see 2 new photos, without light on & with light on). These are great lights, as you can see the new one lights up our small front yard like daylight, next I will get one for our back yard. ... show more

I bought 6 of these lights because of increase home invasion around my area. When I got the package 2 of them were defective (was already not happy especially how much they cost and I got 6 of them). I was like okay maybe they got damaged during shipping. The other 4 worked well until a month later and they suddenly stop working (literally all 4 of them stop working within a span of 2 days after the warranty was over). The lights and batteries are okay it is the CHEAP MOTION SENSOR DETECTOR that most of these brands need to fix. I would avoid any solar security lights until they fix this problem and stick with wired ones even I have to drill holes in the wall and drag wires across. Edit: now after a few months of using the remaining 4/6 (refunded 2 of them cause they were defective), they are currently working kind of correctly. Sometimes the light turns on when cars and people pass by but not all the time. I change the rating to 3 stars from 1 star now because these lights are super bright like no joke. When 2 of them turn on around 20 feet apart it nearly lights up the whole front yard and have light spreading to the street. I would give this 4 or 5 stars if the sensor was built better for the night and if it can tell that street lights are hitting/close to the sensor. ... show more
