The LENTION USB-C Digital AV Multiport Hub with 4K HDMI, 2 USB 3.0, Card Reader, Type C Charging, Gigabit Ethernet Adapter is an awesome device for the money. For the price of just over $60 I received more than what I received with two dongles from Apple. I purchased a Belkin USB-C to Gigabit Ethernet Adapter and a USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter (HDMI/USB) dongle with power slot from Apple. These two dongles cost $34.95 and $69, respectively. Wow!!! Not only did I save money by being this one device, but it was smaller than both devices combined, it is only ONE device, and it gave me more options. Yes, I have an additional USB port and an SD card reader port available that was not an option on the two other items that I returned. If I wanted to have an SD card reader too, that would cost me an additional $39 for a USB-C to SD Card Reader, but don’t forget that I still get an additional USB port. To get an additional USB port that was cost me an additional $19 for a USB-C to USB Adapter. Do you realize that all 4 adapters or dongles would cost me $161.95. That’s crazy. It only cost me just over $60, and that’s FOUR dongles. I’d rather pay LESS and carry only ONE device. This has saved me nearly $100. I would by more if I had more computers. I WILL by an additional adapter if the iPad Pro utilizes more USB C devices. But it works great as a mirror on an HDMI monitor. I can’t wait until Apple opens up the capability of the USB-C on the iPad Pro. I wish they had an iPad version that would allow you to have a USB-C port to allow additional power or expand to additional USB-C accessories simultaneously. That I will DEFINITELY buy. Great product for an awesome price.

I originally gave this a one-star review. The ethernet died after about an hour. I was, however using it completely. all of the slots were plugged in. Keyboard, Kensington mouse Monitor, ethernet & even an SD card. So the ethernet failed and I gave it a bad review and went on with my life... A few days later a nice email from Lention customer service asking about the device & it I had any issues with the product reply to the email... I did... they came up with a few solutions,which I tried & they failed to work... So they sent me a new one. No back & forth bickering... They came across as if they feel they have a good product and they stand behind it. I guess I have become somewhat cynical, because I was pleasantly surprised when they acted just as a company should. As I would want to if it were my company... The new hub arrived. I have plugged everything into it again just I had before and it works fine. It runs hot, but all of these things do. (After the first one failed I bought another dongle just for the ethernet. by itself it runs hot) The new Lention Hub still has everything plugged into it and has been working fine for a few days with no problems. But remember, all fo these hub things are going to be hot so give them some air space, don't lay you copy of the latest spicy novel on top of it!

I purchased (and returned) quite a few high-end multiport hubs in an effort to find the best option — one with a stylish design, excellent build quality, sensible port placement and reliable performance. The Lention hub is hands-down the best out there on every level. Almost every hub I tried had one port that just wasn’t reliable (or even functional). This hub is the most reliable of any that I tested. In addition to being made with the best materials and components, it’s one of the very few silver metal hubs with a black connector cable (versus white). Since my MacBook Pro is silver with black keys, this was important for appeasing my design sensibilities. There’s no other hub I would consider purchasing.

I like the design and when it worked, the functionality. Now, seven months later, it will barely maintain a connection to the 12/2017 MacBook Pro which only has 4 USB-C ports. If my laptop moves just a few millimeters, literally, the connection to this device is lost- infuriating to say the least! It has not been abused in any way. It has been babied. I will ask Lention if they would like to replace my unit. My bigger complaint at this point is with Apple. This disconnection of all devices and cords on all 4 of the only ports they designed into this machine is a constant problem. Apple's own charge cord that they provided with the machine will not stay connected if the laptop just moves slightly. Numerous times I have left my power cord plugged in, just Apple's own cord, plugged into Apple's USB-C port, and I return some hours later to find the machine is dead because the power cord connection is ever so slightly (I'm talking literally 1/4 of one millimeter is all it takes) askew. It is a ridiculously dysfunctional design from Apple. I will pursue the bigger issue with them. I know other people are having the same issue with the dysfunctional design of the only four ports of the computer (NIC the 3.5mm sound output) so I expect there will be another class action lawsuit over this flaw, which Apple made 100 times worse by not providing any other kinds of data ports to offer options! Update: I thank Lention for their excellent customer support and for providing me a new unit. I will use it and see how the connection holds up. I've found good functionality to this as long as the connection is maintained with the USB-C ports.
