I purchased this tripod just to have the option to take photos without requesting help. I wanted to capture everyone in group photos and myself when I travel or hike alone. For the price and the basic functionalities I need, it works good, but it's certainly not outstanding quality. The remote paired instantly with my Android phone, setup is very easy. It's small, easy to hide it in my palm so it's not visible in photos. You really need to take care to turn it off after use, the battery dies fast otherwise. The tripod fits my Moto G smartphone perfectly with the bumper case on (I had several generations) and has decent stability. The head swivels around it multiple position, but depending on the weight of the phone, some might not be very stable. As long as I make sure the terrain is flat and I adjust the legs properly, I have no issues with stability. The legs are flexible, easy to bend to the desires shape, but once bent several times I could never get them 100% straight again. It doesn't bother me that much, it's still as functional as ever. The range of the remote control is not that good and a couple of times I had to move the tripod closer to finally get some pictures. 30 feet is a gross exaggeration, maybe 10-15 feet is the range. But it's sufficient range for most of my needs. The tripod is quite sturdy, including the mounting part. I have carried it around in my backpack in multiple hiking trips and it looks just like new.

Just unboxed it. Feels very solid, legs require some effort to move, and thus resist slipping. Legs are also coated in a grippy foam-like substance. Phone mount has large expansion (spring loaded) to fit fairly large phones, not big enough for a tablet though. Also includes a GoPro mount!

This is perfect in every way. Solid, not flimsy, it stays where you put it. And holds your phone at all sorts of angles. Good price for such a quality little flex tripod stand, it was a nice surprise how good it really is.

I'm giving it three stars as it isn't very expensive - and I'm not entirely surprised by the failures described. But buying a third after 2 have had issues is a waste of money. Don't buy unless you're okay to toss it after a couple of months of regular use, or extended limited use. Mine only lasted because I had limited, careful situational uses. I've owned this product since September 2018 after I bought one for my now ex-girlfriend in 2017. Mine saw usage maybe once a month and few trips with it carefully packed. Within a few months, the socket began to crack in line with the adjustment screw and the ball and socket lost their ability to hold a phone in place for any period of time. Now two more cracks have developed in this part - and the ball is falling out. The two additional cracks likely occurred from tightening the screw to adjust for the first crack. This one part is the most complex molded piece and could use a little more material on the high-stress areas around the tightening screw. It's only 1/2 a radius from the edge and likely too thin. The one I gifted, didn't have the socket problem I had, that I have heard of. Instead, the feet on the ends of the legs would fall off and be misplaced. I know she has since bought another tripod to replace it once all the feet were lost. The feet on mine only fell off once, but I glued them back on and have had no problem since. The flexibility of the legs is nice, but since the socket can't hold the phone at most angles, it's limited in versatility. The stand is helpful beyond selfies as it is useful for video calls, which is about all it became useful for in a very fixed position with a broken socket. The legs don't really grip weird shapes or objects well unless you are very meticulous about balance and positioning - I've seen other flexible tripods perform better. The phone holder could just barely fit an iPhone XS Max in an OB Commuter case. The Bluetooth wireless remote is helpful on a rare occasion and I never had an issue with it. However, I wish "The wireless remote" provided options to be used beyond a shutter control. As a button or command for other tasks instead of a camera click - to hang up a call, activation of assistant, camera swap, video swap in calls, pause/play, skip/previous, or a screenshot. Especially if that could be set per app. But again, the "wireless remote" is not expensive and does what it says it does. This isn't a demerit, just a wish list. Overall, I'm not upset about my purchase - but I also don't want to be buying this thing repeatedly with the current quality issues - that would be too wasteful for me.
