Had it 4 days..so far loving it! We can't use a gas cap so I had to settle for electric, but this one is pretty good asthetically esp for the price. It takes the chill off my large living RM( doesn't heat it& does take time) it could be warmer though the thermostat goes to 84' and the blower is almost unnoticeable. Heat comes out of the front top otherwise the glass remains cool to touch - great for kids n pets. It looks fairly real from a little distance with the variable flame speed and flame brightness with lights in the ember bed logs and flames behind. Also the openable glass doors and wire curtain as well as the interior brick mk it more believable. Add soft crackles or roaring spitting to mk it even more realistic. Can be used flame alone or heat alone as well. There is mood lighting from above but that's not my thing- I want it to be like a real fire. Set- up and operation is a breeze if you already have a 3 prong outlet- I added a GFI as well for safety and would not put any other appliance on the same circuit. Hoping this lasts for yrs. For the price it was a good compromise some electric to were running thousands- yes some are even more realistic but this one does the job.

We bought the LegendFlame Damon 39 Inche Electric Fireplace Insert based on the positive reviews and because it was the only high scoring insert with the proper dimensions for our fireplace opening. We are very happy with it. Installation was simple, just insert, then remove and put some pieces of flat wood on the fireplace floor to level it, reinsert, plug it in. We're using it with the cord exposed but concealed behind a magazine holder. There are plenty of options to show just flames or just fan or multiple heating modes. The flames look like real fire. The fake logs look as real as others we've seen. Our livingroom is larger at 27x18 feet and after 45 minutes it noticeably warms the room. For evening use the different colors of interior lighting make for nice ambience. The one feature we don't use is the optional sounds of cracking fire. I've lived in a home with a wood fireplace that had fan ducts in the wall that were the same heigth as these heat ducts so this is common placement, however when sitting in front of the fireplace the heat hits the back of the neck, unlike a wood or gas fireplace that warms through the glass. Not a negative, just an observation. The remote control worked well for 5 months of constant use, then the display would light up but the screen was blank with no functions shown although it still controlled the varied fireplace options. We called the company listed in the manual in Riverside, California and they sent a replacement remote the same day which arrived fast and worked fine. Cudos for superior customer service.

This is the best looking electric fireplace. We burn "real firewood" every day and have always thought the electric one's were a bit cheesy but they did a great job designing this LegendFlame. We wanted the ambiance and heat of a fire in our Den without the wood mess and we love this one...especially at the price point! We installed it about 6 months ago and it's performing perfectly. Pros: The flame intensity, speed and color options let you set it up just the way you like it. The glow in the logs is awesome. The fact that the flickering flame also shows under the logs adds a lot to the realistic appearance. The 2 glass doors and the screen also add to the realism. EASY to install. Returnable if you don't like it. Cons: I will say the crackling sound is a bit "tinny" but we don't tend use it (maybe because it sounds tinny?). Don't be put off by the color tones in my attached picture, the camera catches color differently than the eye...in actuality, it looks great.

The LegendFlame Damon 28" electric fireplace works great and looks even better. It’s the most realistic electric fireplace I could find—my family and I really enjoy the look of the flames and the gentle crackling sound. It gives all the cozy atmosphere of a real fire without any of the hassle. The heater feature is nice for warming up right in front of the fireplace (very similar to the feel of sitting close to a real one), but it’s not designed to heat an entire room. The product description makes that clear, and it performs exactly as stated. What I wanted most was the ambiance of a fire, and this absolutely delivers. Anytime I want that cozy glow, I just click the power button on the remote and it turns right on to my last settings. The only exception is the heater mode—you do have to select that again if you want heat, which is no problem. Highly recommend if you’re looking for realistic flames and a simple way to add warmth and atmosphere to a space.

The media could not be loaded. I would recommend this as a great looking and perfect way of warming a living room. I’m impressed by the looks, and it fit in my fireplace. I went for the glass model because I wanted the three-dimensional look. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because my living room is large and it takes a while to heat a large living room, but eventually it does. It has the ability to control the brightness of the glowing log, but it doesn’t allow you to control the fast motion, of the flame in the background. I looked for a similar model on fireplaces.com and it was much more expensive and seems to be the same. The sound of the crackling has 4 sound values or you have the ability to turn it off completely. Overall, the unit is definitely an upgrade from the last heater I bought that didn’t fit inside my fireplace and was very flat looking. There is also an overhead light that lights the inside firebox, it has 8 different color choices, cycling color schemes or no light. This purchase was better than I expected I appreciate the quality to detail. First pic is in dark on low flame, second video, and third pic has overhead box light on.
