Overall, a good hammock. Seems as durable as my last one, suitable for nearly everything I would've used that one for. However! Next time I need to replace a hammock, I'm going to buy the hammock and bug net as two separate pieces. I had bought this one because one of the pictures showed someone using the hammock sans bug net... I assumed that perhaps I could just flip it over and sit on the bug net if I wasn't in the mood for it or if I was in an area with few bugs. Unfortunately, the bug net is actually just a little more taut than the rest of the hammock, proving sitting or laying in it uncomfortable - if not impossible. :( So be aware that this hammock, and presumably most other hammocks with integrated bug nets, cannot be used optionally like an open-air hammock. However! Minus that, it's a great hammock. The straps seem sturdy. There's an included pack with stakes and some rope, so you can even rig it up to hold the sides (and the bug net) a little away from you. I don't bother with all that unless I'm setting it up overnight, though. The bug net is also helpful as a sun visor since it's dark, like a grey. For the price and what it is, it's a great purchase. I just wish I had known I wouldn't have the option to not use the bug net. ... show more

I bought the hammock rated 500lb thinking it wouldn't sag so much since I'm about 200, but it sagged badly. It appears to be designed to sag for the net to work because the net is attached and not really a separate piece. Maybe my kids will be able to sleep in it, but I will not be trying it again. It was a rough night for me. The carabiners held out well. And the tree straps were easy to use, although the stretchy straps added to the sagging affect. ... show more
