We have tried MANY Memory Foam mattress pads and different mattresses always waking up with the same back pain. We wanted something soft and comfortable but I know our backs needed support as well. We Finally thought we found a good mattress but after a few nights the pain came back again and it was just too firm. So I went looking for a memory foam topper. All were comfortable at first but ended up being way too soft. I would wake up in pain every time! I was literally about to replace our mattress (again) when I threw the toppers away. We tried sleeping on the mattress alone (again) but it was just too firm. (Back at square one). I know our backs needed support but also needed to not feel like we were laying on a brick all night when we woke up. So I searched for something different. I looked through so many cotton toppers like this and bought a few too. They all came in flat or went flat. 🤦♀️ When I first opened this COONP topper I knew this one would be different. It felt SOO Much thicker than the rest. With high hopes I immediately put it in the dryer for about 30mins on medium heat (low is recommended) and placed it on our bed. That night I slept and woke up feeling amazing!! It’s been over a month now and I couldn’t be more happier and pain free. I just ordered another one for our guest room. If you have back pain and need support but still want something soft and comfortable this is for YOU! Don’t spend your money on the memory foam toppers they are twice the price and only make your back pain worse! This topper holds the firmness of your mattress with support for your back but at the same time makes you feel like you’re sleeping on a cloud. I HIGHLY recommend this product! I found this topper very comfortable. It turned my Tempur-Pedic heart is a rock mattress to feel like a luxury hotel. I never could get it fluffed out to be 3 in. I tried shaking it and fluffing it in my normal size dryer. I got it to to about 2 in. However I still recommend. I'm sure if you took it to a laundromat oversize dryer you would have better luck. I didn't notice any smells. I can't say that it's cooling but I can tell you it's not hot. I cover my bed with a lightweight blanket thus it kind of leaves a lumpy feeling when looking at the mattress from across the room. I do recommend that you put this under your water proof or resistant mattress pad because this is not waterproof or resistant. I'm so glad I finally purchase this. Yeah, so a choir of angels do not descend and sing its praises every time you lay down, despite what some of the other reviewers might say. Did it cure my hip and back pain? Nope. But I would buy it again. The cotton topper is worth every penny. I’m comfortable and not sweaty, even in the middle of summer. Thank goodness. The padding has good thickness - not so obnoxious that you can’t get a sheet on top of it - and the elastic on the sides is generous enough that it holds the pad securely. After decompressing it, tossed it loosely on a spare bed to fluff out, then into the dryer for more refinement. Was still lumpy after putting on my own bed. It did fully fluff out after a week.
