We ordered this unit for our daughter’s room and it turned out to be the perfect ceiling fan for a low-ceiling room with a loft bed in it. We wanted something that would be safe in that situation, but needed something to move the air. We knew a regular ceiling fan would be dangerous, so after a bit of research found this unit. It was easy for my husband and son to install, taking less than a half hour to remove the old fixture and install this unit. Neither of them are electricians, but the installation was so easy and straightforward. My daughter loves that she can control it with a remote control, and that she can change the speed and direction the blades turn with a click of a button. When turning the light on there is an annoying beep, but it doesn’t bother my daughter, so I haven’t spent any time to see if that beep can be turned off or not. We are happy with the look and functionality of this unit and highly recommend it for use in a bedroom that has loft or bunk beds! ... show more

Installed this in my home and the build quality and aesthetic are genuinely impressive for the price. The caged industrial design looks sharp and feels solid. The remote works well and the wiring was straightforward. Brightness will depend entirely on the bulbs you choose — the fixture accommodates standard bases so you have full control over output. Noise level is low; it runs quietly on all speeds. No reliability issues so far. That said, the 20" size was significantly smaller than I expected. If you're picturing it in a standard bedroom, it may underwhelm. At 20 inches it's really suited for a small room or tight space with low ceilings. If you're on the fence between sizes, go larger. Very impressed with this ceiling fan. It is attractive and extremely quiet. On speed 2 you can barely hear it. On speed 1 it is all but silent. Even on the lowest speed it moves a lot of air. (I installed it directly over my desk so I only need the lowest speed.) On the highest speed (6) it blows around the papers. The assembly was straightforward and the instructions well written. A nice addition to other ceiling fans is the security strap. It is a wire with a carabiner hook on one end and the other end is attached to the body of the fan. During installation you hook the carabiner over the bracket in the ceiling and it suspends the fan while you make the electrical connections. Two minor complaints (still not enough to effect the rating). First, the screw holes on the brackets that hold the 4 pieces of the cage are difficult to line up due to the minor misalignment of the parts. This makes it difficult for one person to complete the assembly. (i.e. you need three hands) Second, since the fans is operated by a remote it has no manual switches. If you ever lose the remote (or it breaks or wears out) you will not be able to operate the fan. The light is automatic when power comes from the wall switch so that, at least, will still work. And a suggestion to the manufacturer. Charge a little more and ship it with the cage assembled. That was the most difficult part of the installation. (And it would avoid the lion's share of negative comments.) Note regarding bulbs: I chose this flush mount fan because it was installed in a finished attic room with a slightly lower than normal ceiling. This design leaves the light bulbs very close to the ceiling. I chose GE Bright Stick bulbs because of their trim profile. Even with these slim profile bulbs they are less than 2 inches from the ceiling. I suspect "standard" profile bulbs would nearly touch the ceiling. Thankfully, LED bulbs are not nearly as hot as the old incandescent ones. I love these fans! They are pretty and compact for a small space. The remote has multiple options for fan speed and even has a timer. The fan is super quiet and the cage around the lighting and blades keeps birds from perching on the picture. The lights are pretty when illuminated but can turn off to just have the fan activated. I bought this to get circulation in our main bedroom closet and it has been great. It was very easy to install and it looks amazing. I put the fan together while sitting on my couch one afternoon (took maybe 30 minutes) and I had it installed in about 15 minutes. I turned the power off at the breaker, removed the old light, hung the new bracket, hung the light to the bracket with the included hook which allowed me to easily connect the 3 wires when I secured the light to the ceiling. All instructions are in the box and easy to follow. As long as you turn off the electricity, this is an easy DYI. Looks great, love the different fan speeds, love the lights and the timer. I like to keep the fan on for circulation and I can put the fan timer for 2 hours while the lights are off. If you have big hands, it will be tight to replace the light bulbs in the future. There is enough clearance for the small bulbs but my hand barely fit and I do not have big hands. That would be my only concern. ... show more

Beautiful light. Fan is super quiet at low speeds. Assembly was very difficult because the screws were the wrong threads for the holes. You could make them work, but you stripped a lot of heads. I bought some screws with the proper threads and had no more problems.
