This light is super helpful. The magnetic base is very strong and can be placed on any metal surface. The light itself is also quite bright. This makes it significantly easier to solder small parts, perfect for any one else who is a maker. Would recommend.

I work in a shop that has many dark areas. This light does the trick for focusing light where you need it. The head unit feels solid and works good. Not super bright but good for what I need.

Fast shipping and the light arrived without damage. The light is made with sturdy materials. It seems to be able to withstand years of use. It comes with a bracket so that a metal surface can be bolted to the workbench for the magnetic base. The thick goose neck length is okay. It's is not the longest I've seen. Here are some negative or minor issues: the power cord is way too short, 4' in length. In order to use it, I have to use an extension cord. The weight of the extension cord is also pulling on the thin and flimsy power cord. The other end of the plug is tucked under the plastic sheath of the goose neck. If there is something that is going to break, this is it. For the size of the big lamp housing, the light is not very bright contrary to what the video suggests. The magnetic base is fine if the surface is horizontal. I needed to attached it to a vertical surface. The magnetic base moved around considerably when I move the goose neck to adjust the aim. When mounted horizontally, the magnetic base is not strong enough if I had the goose neck going side ways. I am using a stamp metal surface. A cast iron surface may provide a better surface for the magnetic base. Overall, this is a sturdy mediocre work light with a goose neck. Hope this helps. ... show more

This is a great light with excellent brightness and very flexible. It is also long enough to do whatever you need. BUT... the mounting base failed in our office (medical practice) after just one day. Sadly, the base the light mounts on is soft plastic on which the flexible shaft is held by one wafer-thin nut and a washer. What happens is that if, in moving the light around, any rotational force is applied, the nut backs off (no matter how tightly you secure it) and soon gets slack. When this happens the light goes all floppy and cannot be positioned. I was forced to completely revamp the mount, discarding the plastic. instead I used the metal base that the plastic mount is secured to, and welded two small pieces of steel to support the flexible shaft. But this was a major operation which involved completely dismantling the light, cutting the power cable (which would have melted during the welding process), and then re-assembling the entire thing and soldering back the cable. It now works well and is solid as a rock, but I really shouldn't have needed to do all that. This is a great light degraded by a poorly designed mount. Pity. ... show more
