  • Only got to 14 feet using the extension.
Won’t lie- Instructions aren’t written well, but my husband is an engineer and so it was put together in about 10 minutes. Everything is great with this lift, and it saved us a lot of money instead of us having to rent one (we can only work on the ceilings of our new shop for a couple hours in the evening, so renting wouldn’t work for us $ or time wise). Pros- easy to maneuver. Brake system on the large wheel works well… if you set it correctly (play around with this lift before actually loading boards and using it… and be very purposeful and alert with what you are doing so it doesn’t come speeding down to the ground). I also found it easy to wheel around. Cons- doesn’t actually go up 19 feet… even with using the extension piece. (See comments below) I can’t figure out how they claim this can go to 19 feet. If you install the extension, it only reaches up to 14 feet tall. We thought maybe the original triangular pole would fit on top of the extending piece, but couldn’t see how that would work at all. So… We YouTubed extension ideas and a guy had an idea of building your own with steel pipe and fittings (his was a different brand so we went to home depot and figure out ideas for this baby). Best we could come up with was getting a 3/4 inch pipe that is 4 feet long, with a 3/4 x 1/2 x 3/4 reducing tee for the top of the pipe which is the best size for the post on the top yellow piece of the lift to fit into. For the bottom of the pipe, we bought some linch pins to install into the pipe (after we drill holes into the side of the pipe… a second one for pickup/safety), so that when the pipe is installed into the top of yellow extension pole, it won’t go too far down inside the extension pole and damage the cable on the pulley system. Hope this helps someone looking for help and getting frustrated with finding a way to reach higher with the lift actually does. ... show more

  • 4' extention didn't come with lift like it was supposed to
4' extention didn't come with lift like it was supposed to. I called about it and they said it was back ordered for a month. I bought it to do a job 15' high and needed it the week I got it. So I returned it and bought the Red Line and an extention. Set me back a week but it did nicely.

  • This lift has saved my back and money. I ...
This lift has saved my back and money. I have used this lift to take down over 80 pieces of 4 x 12 fire rated sheet rock on a 14' ceiling. I have found that one person can remove and lower the sheet rock but it takes 2 to take it off of the lift. Tried to remove one sheet before I got this lift and it fell and broke. With this lift I will be able to reuse the sheet rock when the insulation, wiring & plumbing are installed. And I will be using this lift for to re-installation all of the old sheet rock which will save me thousands. . ... show more

  • Pretty decent
Assembly is really easy, once you’ve deciphered the awful instructions. It really just clicks together. Having a big piece of drywall cranked up 10 feet over your head is scary, and it seems like it will topple over any moment. But, after a couple sheets went up, it was a breeze. The machine seems well made and is working great - allowing me to single handedly drywall a room with 14’ ceilings. Can’t believe I ever did it without this thing. ... show more

  • Have to have it
It would have been so much harder installing the sheet rock on the ceiling without this hoist. I wouldn’t even try it with it. The wall in the picture is 8 foot and the peak of the ceiling is 14 foot. It was very easy to use and a good quality

  • Average cheapo
Definitely cheap flimsy metal compared to telpro but no worse than other generic cheapos. The 19’ is completely wrong as most say. It’s the 16-17 as any with an extension, just might reach slightly closer to 19 when it’s tipped up in the loading position. When at the angle like that the top edge of the sheet is obviously higher than the bottom edge. But regardless it can’t be used for hanging 19 foot ceilings or anything close without just using the lift to crank a sheet up higher then lift by hand after. Even with a 18” pipe extension, I maybe got to 17 feet or so. So, maybe plan for average 12’ ceilings and if something a little higher comes along then you’ll be fine. Just don’t expect 19 as it says. Even with half sheets the bugger flexes and leans a scary amount but no tipping so far. Anyway. Average low end quality, the pins that hold the arms that support the outer ends of the sheet, are junk, but aren’t all that important anyway. The wheels section that the pillar piece locks onto is dangerously flimsy but watch what you’re doing or as they’re about all universal anyway swap it out for a better brand, and all will be fine. Otherwise 2.5 stars out of 5. Could be a ton better but could be worse too. ... show more

  • Simple and easy to use.
The Unit comes in two boxes. The original height telescoping vertical risers will be removed and replaced with the longer telescoping riser that comes in the second box. The cable will need to be cut from the compression swag and the cable from the new extended riser will need to be fed through the reel and swagged. The unit is simple to use and seems reliable. I used it to lift 16 foot steel angle irons (55 pounds) up to beams 12 - 1/2 off the ground. The only significant annoyance is the cable reel has no level wind capability (like a nice fishing reel) and the cable will tend to build up on one side of the spool and suddenly jump to a lower spot while lifting - causing the riser to feel a slight jolt when the cable jumps around the spool to a different spot. Be absolutely sure your surface is flat and level and use a bubble level on the vertical riser to guard against off-center tilted lifts and take your time. Unboxing the units is simple, but shifting contents were evident in the unpacking. ... show more
