I have an indoor chiminea made by SHAG that you cannot burn anything in...so it is a decorative piece only. I use these to make a flame effect. I keep them on their brightest setting and it looks pretty good. They are rechargable and visibilty hasnt been a problem. Our new rental came with a gas fire place but it does not work, and requires more money than I am willing to spend, as a renter, to fix it. So I went searching for a quick fix and came across these and so far they are working great. I've attached a picture. It's not the best example because it was still light out but at night it gives off a nice subtitle glow. I think I will purchase more to amp up the "fire glow". The only negative is, that the glass impedes the signal from the remote to the lantern. So much so that I had to position the lanterns a certain way that I can turn them off with the remote. Sometimes I have to press the on/off button a couple of times before it connects. If you don't have glass I'm sure they would work just fine. ... show more
