  • Works well
Style: Tire Lock Bike Rack
Very happy with the rack. It does take a little assembly but the parts fit well (there was one small section that was tough to align). It is very sturdy on the vehicle and it's a breeze to mount and dismount the bikes. The spacing between bikes is adequate but not immense, so that the two Mt bikes do touch/rub around the seats or bars. (I am usually hauling only one bike, so this is not a major concern.) There are two drawbacks. 1) It is heavy. That adds to the sturdiness, but it is not light when moving and storing. 2) The tang is overly long. This is probably to accommodate all types of vehicles and locations of bumpers. But, it really sticks out from the vehicle. So, when loaded with two bikes, that weight has great leverage and can cause sag. I actually shortened the tang about 4 inches which made a significant improvement. And, when carrying only one bike, I load closest to the vehicle. Overall, for the ease of loading and unloading, and the stability when transporting bike, I do like this rack and I would purchase it again. ... show more

  • Very well designed, simple, lightweight...
Style: Quick Release Bike Rack
The Leader accessories 2 bike rack I recently purchased is very well designed. I have installed it on my Toyota Tacoma truck and I love it. I plan to order a 7” hitch extender just to give a little more room to stand between the rack and the tailgate when let down. I show a picture where I have installed a 12” extender just for illustration. The rack is a little further back than needed though with the 12 inch. An extender can be used if there is any interference between that top square post and the tailgate of any brand, or model of truck, making this rack compatible with just about any vehicle. It has a feature where the rack can be tilted back for additional space to access the rear. One thing to note on the assembly is that the large bolt going through the pivot point where the rack tilts, will need to be torqued down a lot. Mine was wobbly at first before I found this bolt must be tightened securely to get the side to side play out. Once tightened the operation is very smooth. This rack also clicks up in a vertical position when not being used. I also easily found that if I am only hauling one bike there are three structural assemblies that can be easily removed, further simplifying the rack assembly and reducing its weight, making uninstalling, and reinstalling even easier. This brand also has a four bike version if needed. I can’t find anything I don’t like, so I highly recommend this brand and style of bike rack. Unfortunately I lost my original pictures I posted, due to being required to edit my review... ... show more

  • Sturdy rack for fat tire eBikes
Style: Quick Release Bike Rack
After a lot of comparing I finally settled on this rack. I’m glad I did. I found it well engineered with thoughtful enhancements. It’s a solid piece of support. The “anti-wobble” bracket seemed to make hooking it to the truck a bit cumbersome but finally got it properly fitted. (I may switch to a lockable pin without the anti wobble insert for easier on/off of the rack and see how it rides. For now, it works to insert the rack with a wrench or channel locks to tighten or loosen the pin bolt.) We’re in our upper sixties so one of our concerns is getting these heavy eBikes with fat tires onto the rack on our truck and eventually our RV. The picture shows our first attempt. We finally grew a brain and took the battery off before our second attempt at mounting the bike. That made a big difference. My wife helped me load but I was going to ride solo so I figured I’d just wait for someone to come by at the trail head to help but no one happened by. So with “necessity as the mother of invention” I figured a way to load and unload with one person. 1) Remove straps, 2) Remove the vertical bar clamp arms, 3) Lean the bike against the back of the vehicle, 4) Lower the vertical bar pivoting it toward the front of the bike (you can’t go right or you hit the pedals), 5) Move to the front of the bike and rebalance it to the upright position, 6) Roll the bike towards you using the main support tube as a midway landing pad and once the rear wheel rests in the front wheel cradle put the front wheel on the ground and reposition yourself to the side of the bike and lift and lower the back wheel to the ground. I found this very easy to manage with a little thought to balance. In reloading I simply reversed the process and it quickly and easily remounted. Now, bike #2 in the rear most position will need a different technique as there is no center support to roll across. I think for the back bike simply lower the front tire to the ground while leaving the rear tire in its cradle. Then slightly lift and lower the back wheel. I have yet to do the two bikes but you can see the basic concept and you will find your own improvisations to the process. The bike rides on the rack with a steadiness that assures you of a secure mount. I recommend it. ... show more

  • Good Value
Style: Tire Lock Bike Rack
This bike carrier is sturdy and surprisingly well finished. Assembly was not difficult. It folds up and down easily, and stores standing up flat against the wall. When it is folded up for travel there are a couple places where metal could touch metal, so I applied a little black tape to prevent scratches. I have not yet traveled on the road with bikes loaded, but I see very little wobble in the system. Bikes appear to be stable in the loaded position, but I always use some extra safety straps regardless of the installed tie down system. I generally load one e-bike and one road bike, but it will take two e-bikes. So far I am pleased with this rack considering its relatively low price. I do some long distances, so I reserve the right to amend this review upon more experience. Edit: I made my first trip with this carrier, and it was perfect. I tightened the anti-wobble sleeve and added my own hitch tightener, and the bike did not wobble a bit. Rolling on and off one wheel at a time made even the ebike easy to handle. ... show more
