Bought this pool for my 8 and 2yo boys. The skimmer is a joke and seems useless. The pool was very easy to put together myself, and my kids are happy to have something to swim in. I don’t see this lasting more than one season.

I bought a silly inflatable pool for my adult amusement this summer and needed to buy the other silly supplies to maintain my silly pool. This skimmer is the right size and the right price for my needs. I don’t attach a handle – I simply bend over my pool and skim, and I’m able to get all of the lawn debris as well as any size bug who has decided to go for a swim. I find skimming to be a very satisfying task with an instant gratification factor. I would assume you’d want something more heavy duty for larger jobs, but for my little job, this is exactly right.

I ordered this primarily to skim leaves and small debris from a pretty tiny "pond" in our landscaping - really more of a big glorified birdbath. I've used it once without adding a handle and it worked just fine for my purpose. The mesh was certainly adequate to catch leaves and small sticks, and I could scoop up some of the stuff that settled on the bottom once I stirred it up. Although I think it will do what I need it to do, it does not seem to be particularly sturdy. For my limited described purpose I will give it 5 stars.

I purchased this to clean my fish pond and I chose this product for several reasons: 1. The opposing, plastic lock pins would serve to lock this into a piece of inexpensive PVC pipe; 2. The net is not taught/tight against the frame making it easier to capture and scope debris, and; 3. The size is just right for navigating the plants and other features within the pond. The product fits the bill perfectly for my initial requirements, as well as being sturdy and light weight. Especially, since this is fitted to the end of a 3 1/2 foot piece of PVC which serves as a perfect handle for reaching into the recesses of my pond. An excellent buy rot cleaning small ponds and pools.

We have a blowup pool for my toddler in the back yard and he specializes in getting grass in the pool. I wanted a cheap skimmer to try to keep it clean. For the price I paid this is exactly what I was expecting. It is a little flimsy, every two scoops I turn it around so it doesn't get forced to far in one direction. I would recommend this for a small pool as I am using it for. For an above ground pool or even a larger supported blow up I would say spend a little more money and get a higher quality skimmer. From my past experience taking care of those pools this may not last very long.
