This is a really great item for certain things. The main thing I needed it for was small batches of garlic confit. It’s really sturdy and well made, looks beautiful, and will last forever if taken care of. Like other le creuset items, it has a ten year warranty. It can also be used as a nice looking gravy/sauce bowl when serving meals, or a sugar bowl, etc. Just keep in mind that it’s tiny and only able to be used for small things like that, don’t let photos fool you into thinking you’ve found a deal on a Dutch oven lol ... show more

I have two of these and one holds salt and another color holds pepper. I like this better than items made to hold salt because I like to remove the lid instead of swinging it to the side like most containers for salt and pepper use a magnet. The new one I just purchased in white has a little larger lid than the older one had. I still love this and works well.
