  • My first Le Creuset.
Purchased new in April 2024 for $232 as a Mother’s Day gift. In the end, 14.4lb is a bit too heavy for my Mom to use on a regular basis without injuring herself. That being said, I have only used it for simple dishes like stews, curry, and pasta sauces. I chose it because I wanted to reduce potential forever-chemicals leaching into foods and ultimately into our bodies. I believe the lid handle is oven safe, though I haven’t made anything that requires that yet. Good heat distribution, durable, nice color. I am doing my best to keep it in good condition. Hoping to use it for many years to come. ... show more

  • My first Le Cruset
Color: Marseille
Excellent wide dutch oven to cook with. Plenty of room to brown more meat plus retains heat and cold very well, lid is secure to hold in steam while cooking and cleaning is easy. Highly recommend. I might eventually buy a higher round Le Cruset just as a deeper pan option but I'm completely happy with this purchase. Came delivered packed well, no damages and with brief multilingual maintenance guide if you really need this. ... show more

  • Worth the money if you have the skill
Color: Cerise
6.75 qt beauty of culinary genius. So happy to have my own cruset Dutch oven after many many years of coveting and not being able to afford or appreciate. If you have the means to afford one and the skill to appreciate what one can do then please purchase when on offer. You won’t be disappointed

  • Great Dutch Oven, smaller than stated
Color: Caribbean
I love cooking in this dutch oven. It heats through beautifully, nothing sticks, and it cleans with ease. I cannot say enough good things about this product. I deducted 1 star because it is NOT 6.75 quarts. I can get 6.5 quarts in if I literally fill it to the top edge of the pan lip, which no cook would actually do. You can cook maybe 5.75-6.0 quarts of actual product in here if you don't want it boiling over and making an utter mess. Many people complain about burning. I've had no such issues but then I understand that cooking temps are far below what one would use in a non-cast iron pan. I never have the heat above medium and always use a touch of good quality oil with a high smoke point. Medium IS your high temp setting. Lol! As an aside, buy the Lodge Enamel cleaning kit. It works better than Le Cruesset cleaner IMO and is far cheaper. ... show more

  • Beautiful and well-made!
I've been wanting a really good Dutch oven for years, but the quality ones are way too expensive, so when I saw this was on sale, I finally splurged and bought one. I've cooked in it 3 times this week (since I bought it) and it allows me to do things I couldn't do with my other cookware. The last thing that I made was a pot of beans in the oven yesterday. I was able to caramelize the onions on the stove, add the liquids, spices and pre-soaked beans and then pop it into the oven before going to my doctor's appointment. When I got home, the beans were done perfectly! Way better than the crockpot (because most of the liquid was gone) and they tasted great - and the Dutch oven cleaned up easily afterwards. When making things like Tamale Pie or deep dish pizza, you really need cast iron to get the right texture when you're done. This purchase was worth every penny! (Also, just FYI, the rim of the pot and the rim of the lid are the base cast iron - I gather it's to avoid chipping the lid or the rim when the lid goes on and off. The company says it will not rust as long as you don't leave it sitting in water, but instead dry it off thoroughly before putting it away. So far, so good.) ... show more
