  • Beautiful and well-made!
I've been wanting a really good Dutch oven for years, but the quality ones are way too expensive, so when I saw this was on sale, I finally splurged and bought one. I've cooked in it 3 times this week (since I bought it) and it allows me to do things I couldn't do with my other cookware. The last thing that I made was a pot of beans in the oven yesterday. I was able to caramelize the onions on the stove, add the liquids, spices and pre-soaked beans and then pop it into the oven before going to my doctor's appointment. When I got home, the beans were done perfectly! Way better than the crockpot (because most of the liquid was gone) and they tasted great - and the Dutch oven cleaned up easily afterwards. When making things like Tamale Pie or deep dish pizza, you really need cast iron to get the right texture when you're done. This purchase was worth every penny! (Also, just FYI, the rim of the pot and the rim of the lid are the base cast iron - I gather it's to avoid chipping the lid or the rim when the lid goes on and off. The company says it will not rust as long as you don't leave it sitting in water, but instead dry it off thoroughly before putting it away. So far, so good.) ... show more

  • Good Buy
This unit is very well built. Coloration is beautiful. You will not be disappointed. Pricey, but in the long run, it is worth it. made in France.

  • Bakers delight
I've never smelled bread so much in my life. Purchased this for my fiance since she loves baking (which is fantastic because I do not, I prefer cooking meats, making soups, etc.). From her perspective, it's by far the best dutch oven she's ever had. These are easy to clean and hold heat noticeably better than what we've experienced in the past. Got it on sale too, win win. ... show more

  • Secret Weapon
Color: Shallot
IMHO the most versatile round, wide Dutch oven pot. If I had to choose one Le Creuset, this fits the build. Great for soups, braising, roasts, and all the perks of a Dutch oven all in one. The round shape is easier to use on a stovetop when compared to an oval shaped one. Although this size might be large for a 2-person home, it accommodates well for more than 2 people. If you believe in leftovers to avoid constant cooking in your daily life, this will be your cooking “friend”. Just be forewarned since it is cast iron, it can be heavy for those that may struggle with the weight. I recommend this piece. ... show more

  • So beautiful and huge!
I’ve wanted a Le Creuset for years and I finally went for it when I saw this one on sale. Before it arrived I ordered a large gold knob for the top from the LC website because I don’t care for silver. Both items arrived on the same day and paired together they are absolutely gorgeous. I haven’t had the chance to use the oven yet, but everyone knows of their durability and lifetime warranty so I feel that they truly speak for themselves at this point. You can see how beautiful and huge this oven is in my photo. I’m thrilled with it and already have my eye on a few other pieces in the LC collection. Compared to cheaper cast iron ovens I can now see why these cost so much by the look and feel of it alone. It’s heavy and well made. With proper care I can see how these get passed down through generations. Can’t wait to put it to use, especially now that winter is coming. ... show more

  • My first Le Creuset.
Purchased new in April 2024 for $232 as a Mother’s Day gift. In the end, 14.4lb is a bit too heavy for my Mom to use on a regular basis without injuring herself. That being said, I have only used it for simple dishes like stews, curry, and pasta sauces. I chose it because I wanted to reduce potential forever-chemicals leaching into foods and ultimately into our bodies. I believe the lid handle is oven safe, though I haven’t made anything that requires that yet. Good heat distribution, durable, nice color. I am doing my best to keep it in good condition. Hoping to use it for many years to come. ... show more

  • It’s LeCrusset *****
It’s a LeCrusset. It will be the best enameled dutch oven you can get. I’ve heard people making the claim that some US based company is just as good. Nah. Nope. Still work paying these stupid tariffs for.

  • Beautiful but almost too big
My Mom loves her 5 qt round red Dutch oven that I bought her for Christmas. SocI wanted a Dutch oven but hers is a little too small for my soup recipes. A 6 qt pot would be perfect but the 6.75 qt pot is as close as it gets. The sides are shorter than the 5 qt and it’s bigger across the bottom making browning chuck roast or frying chicken easier. The sides are perfect for frying as it keeps splatter off my stove, but this pot is really too big for my beef stew recipe as the liquid level is too low and I get close to cooking off to much liquid when simmering with the lid on for 1.5 hr. The potatoes don’t have enough beef &wine sauce to fully cook so I had to increase the broth amount. While I like it, I think I should have bought the smaller 5 qt pot. ... show more
