Got this for my wife for Christmas. She loves it and so do I. I didn't realize how heavy it was with the enameled iron. It's really easy to clean too. We made beef bourguignon right out of the gate and it was tender, juicy and very flavorful. The Dutch Oven really holds the heat. I recommend the 7.25 quart as some other reviewers have pointed out that the larger one can hold everything you need, and you will not run out of space. Overall highly recommend -- it's expensive but the heaviness, quality, enameled finish (easy cleaning), and the ability to retain so much heat (allowing for cooking on lower temps) just sets this apart. Works great, I enjoy cooking with this pot. I got this larger one. Plenty of room to stir, without food splashing out out of the pot. It’s heavy. Durable. So far, cooks great. I haven’t really used the lid yet. The last couple of times food wanted to stick on the bottom. I used very little Bar Keepers Friend to remove it after letting it soak. I've recently had other brands of dutch ovens and can attest to the benefits of this one. The Le Creuset is lighter than smaller capacity models from other brands. Even though bigger this one is appreciably lighter and easier to carry around and pull out of the oven. It also heats quickly. It has a flat surface to contact my electric stove burner rather than a curved base that reduces contact with the stove. It's cleaned up nicely and made some good food. It is about 6x the cost of the others so the others were useable but the Le Creuset provides some big benefits. ... show more

Le Creuset is worth every penny. It's heavy, so be careful when washing it; a small price to pay for the best cooking and roasting experience. Bought this mainly for cooking dry bean, lentil, split pea soups. Saute onions, vegetables, add beans and seasoning. Fill the pan 2/3 full of water or broth. Use medium heat to bring to a boil, put the lid on, turn down heat to simmer and let the magic happen. When beans are cooked, remove the lid to reduce liquid if desired. Never use high heat with Le Crueset, you don't have to. I burned SO many pans of soup before. No more!! ... show more
