  • Good pot
Color: Cerise Style: Oven
Expensive but it holds up to abuse. It is a great pot. The enamel coating had held up better than cheaper enameled cookware that I have.

  • Happy Cooking in this excellent heirloom-worthy pot
I obtained this on Amazon Warehouse and saved about $50. The only damage was to the packaging, none to the item itself. I would have purchased for full price if this wasn't available because it is truly a quality product that is fully guaranteed by Le Creuset. While this is an investment, it should last for generations. I know this because I had my grandmother's until it was lost in a move. The beauty of this pot is that it cooks evenly and very effectively especially for soups, braises, and breads. It easily goes from the stove to oven with a high heat tolerance of 450 degrees. If you need it to tolerate a hotter oven, it is recommended that you purchase an all metal knob for the top which is easily changed. The enamel finish on the interior is not only beautiful, but cleans up easily. The extra large handles are a great improvement since these pots are not light weights. I am very happy with my purchase. ... show more

  • A helper for the cook in your life
Color: Marseille Style: Oven
I love the way this Dutch oven cooks. This product keeps the heat in so well I can cook at a lower temp. The Dutch oven saves time, money. The food you prepare will be delicious the meat will be tender. The flavors in your food will be enhanced. I used to love using my slow cooker. When I got my Dutch oven I have not used the slow cooker. The Dutch oven will make you look like a pro. I am an experienced cook, this baby makes me look like a galloping Gourmet . Le Creuset is perfection. worth the money. Enjoy your cooking you will love it!!! ... show more

  • How did I live without this before?
Color: Cerise Style: Oven
This pot is fantastic. I have other cast iron but this blows all those away. Its a great size, easy to clean, cooks amazing! I had not purchased it before because of the price (yikes) but noticed recently elsewhere prices were going up $60 dollars or more. I decided to bite the bullet. I took the chance that I cook enough to justify the cost It was worth it. Excellent product. ... show more

  • Beautiful, simply perfect pot.
Color: Caribbean Style: Oven
This beautiful, very versatile useful pot is what I've been waiting for my whole entire life. It cooks up like a perfect dream and cleans as if it's brand new. Like another customer who purchased this Caribbean Le Creuset pot, I keep it at all times displayed on my stovetop in the kitchen displaying this most beautiful pot. I am so totally proud of my purchase! It is so well worth the money. I'm now in my 60's and feel I finally deserve something well worth the money spent. This pot works so perfectly well. My only regret is not having purchased it many, many years ago. ... show more

  • Love, Love, Love this Dutch oven!
Color: Cerise Style: Oven
Yes it is expensive. It does have one main advantage over the much cheaper Lodge one of a similar size. Namely the bottom has more surface area for browning because the bottom is wider and sides go up straighter, whereas the Lodge one is a lot more curved like a bowl on the bottom. I have cooked numerous foods in this pan. Nothing has stained it, and everything has come clean surprisingly easily. From borscht (beet soup), to browning and then braising beef in the oven for hours for shredded beef tacos, to curry with lots of spices, clean up has been a cinch. If you don't intend to brown foods in it, or don't cook a whole lot, or are on a tight budget, you probably will be content with the Lodge. Personally I prefer the Le Creuset and I find that unless I need both at the same time, the other sits in the cabinet. This is definitely my go-to pot now. ... show more

  • Great product! My wife has used it several times ...
Great product! My wife has used it several times since purchasing. We had an Emil Henry prior to this (not cast iron) and while it was a great pot, due to the nature of the materials, it ended up breaking (the perils of use and the occasional bangs and bumps in a kitchen). Not going to happen with this piece! Very sturdy and I would imagine it will last many years with proper care. Contrary to other reviewer's comments, it's no harder to clean than any other pot in the house and we've noticed no staining. I suppose it could stain over the years but like anything you actually use, eventually it's going to look "used". I would purchase again and recommend the 7.5qt over the smaller versions, it just gives you more options if you only have one. ... show more

  • A Timeless Classic Piece!
My wife has wanted this for years to add to her cast iron collection. However, because there are so many other brand names out there at a fraction of the price, we could never justify the cost. We have purchased and used other french ovens. While they did a commendable job, my wife still felt that, based on her research, the Le Creuset was the best choice among French/Dutch ovens. She was right. I recently purchased it for her. She made a pot roast as her first dish in her new 7 1/4-Quart Le Creuset French oven and was amazed at how easy it was to sear and slow roast the meat and vegetables. An added bonus - during cleanup she ran hot water in the pan, placed a small amount of dish liquid in the water and let it soak. She was prepared to let the pot soak overnight. Amazingly, she found that she was able to clean the pot within minutes using only a sponge. This pot is money well spent. Although it's heavy (not unexpected for cast iron), it clearly will be used often by us for years to come. Worth the investment! ... show more
