We use this all the time. Dishes cook and heat wonderfully and evenly, and it's surprisingly easy to clean. It's heavy, but that's what helps it to cook so wonderfully.

I have a bigger Le Creuset dutch oven that I love for making roasts and what not. But I needed something smaller for when I make risotto. This is the perfect size for that and some of the other dishes that I make that may cook on top of the stove or may also need to go into the oven. I hesitated about getting it due to the price but then remembered how my original has held up like new and that I will have this until I leave this earth (no, I'm not exaggerating, you take care of one of these dutch ovens and it will always be in great shape). I do recommend getting the cleaner they offer. Sometimes something might get stuck on the bottom because I turned around to see what just happened on the football game that they are yelling about and will forget to stir but that cleaner rescues me and gets that discolored spot right off. Another tip in case you've never had one of these before, if you ever cook anything and it looks like it might take a lot to get it off just put some warm water and a little dishsoap in it and let it soak just a little and it'll come right out. ... show more

This is a quality Dutch oven. I previously bought one of the larger ones and, because I just cook for myself now, felt I needed a smaller one. Regardless of the size, these Le Creuset Dutch ovens yield a great finished product and clean up lots easier than I imagined. I used to think reviewers of expensive products gave excellent ratings because they didn't want to admit they were snobs and bought an expensive product that was just okay. This isn't the case. I could not love this pot more if it cooked by itself. I have had it a little over a month and use it for everything. It rarely leaves my stovetop and if it does it is back out in no time. Food does not stick, it cleans like a breeze, and makes me feel like a great chef even when making something simple, lol. It is elegant, hardy, and attractive. I hesitated for a while because it is more expensive than other cookware, but it's worth every penny. If you are considering it, I don't think you'll be sorry. After 48 years, the enamel on the inside, bottom, of my old Le Creuset pot, which was a wedding gift, finally chipped; I had used that pot more than any other I've ever owned! Of course, I had to replace it with another Le Creuset pot, as I would not even consider another brand. The new pot is great, slightly smaller than my old one, but still perfect.
