The turkey I received was a little over 11 pounds. I added a popper to know when it was done cooking. I also injected it with Tony Chachere Injectable Marinades with Injector, Roasted Garlic and Herb, https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00YZNZYUO?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details. I actually used only half a bottle injecting. The rest I mixed with butter to spread over the skin and use for basting later. I put some aluminum foil over the turkey so it wouldn't burn. I took it off around the 2:45 mark and got about 3 baster full of juices for giblet gravy. I spread the rest of the butter mix over the turkey. Then I put it back in. Less than 30 minutes later it was done. I think I probably should have taken it out a little sooner because the skin was not quite brown enough on top. In any case, the meat came out fantastic.

This brand has a well-deserved reputation. The pots are heavy to lift, but perhaps for that very reason they hold heat uniformly and well. All we have done with ours so far has turned out excellent, and we hope to continue to use it for many years.

It cooks nicely, but every time I use it I find myself wishing it was round, not oval. It doesn't fit well on a the stove burner, and a large-ish cut of meat doesn't fit well. One note: Don't sear meat with olive oil in a Le Creuset dutch oven! Use Canola oil, or better yet clarified butter, or the bottom of the pot will get black or brown marks.

The day I received my Dutch oven I made Julia Child’s Boeuf Bourguignon and it gave me new life. Having a good Dutch oven that is made from quality iron and has exceptional enamel will change the way you cook. Because you can brown meats and vegetables in it on the stove and then put it in the oven, it’s easy to make one-pot meals that have flair. Can you do this with any cheap Dutch oven? Not successfully. The quality of cheaper iron means it heats unevenly due to impurities, and lesser enamel will crack, craze or chip. I had an inexpensive Dutch oven and after only a few months it started to rust in areas that weren’t coated with ceramic. I’ve had many pieces of Le Creuset for years and they still look amazing.

I enjoy cooking in my Le Creuset so much! This is my 3rd piece and I think they are by far the best cooking vessel anyone can have. If you can afford these lifetime pieces of well made cookware, treat yourself! I cook all the time and am married 35 years. I finally thought I would buy what I've always wanted because it would only increase the flavors and perfection of my meals. I wasn't wrong! Great seller and prompt shipping.

Yes. It’s a lot of money but I’m telling you it’s worth it. This is the second one I’ve purchased for my wife. The first one is still being used and it most be 10 years old. I purchased the second one just because of size and shape. They are also guaranteed by the company. Check out the website!!! It will last forever. I can’t tell you how many wonderful soups, stews and one pot meals my wife has made in this cookware.

I knew nothing about Le Creuset Dutch oven until just a few months ago… I am a foodie but somehow this was never on my radar… this quickly became my go to. The convenience of prepping the meal all in one unit saves time. I also find an uptick on the quality of the meals. The only reason I gave 4 stars on easy to clean is its a little tank. Still well worth it. I am looking to add other Le Creuset products to my kitchen. Hope this helps when making a decision. This will last for generations!

OMG I waited years to finally get a big Dutch oven and never thought I could afford a Le Creuset. The price was excellent but I still couldn’t commit. By opening an Amazon credit card it was an offer I couldn’t refuse. I have a bunch of cast iron but this one heats and cooks beyond my expectations. There is such a difference in good quality, French cookware. I adore using it. Best purchase ever from Amazon.
