So I have been interested in better pots and pans for a few years, started using cast iron and I do like them a lot but of course you have to keep them in good shape by treating them great, seasoning and you cant use soap to clean them which is fine but its just a little more work than regular pots and pans BUT I want to eat healthy with my family so although this is one of the more expensive skillets I have ever bought I love it. It is easy to clean, heats our food evenly and is therefore easier to cook with and we have been gentle with it and its holding up perfectly. I love how easy it is to clean and keep looking great plus I know my family isnt eating Teflon with our meal :) it is a bit heavy but that isnt a big concern for me and comes with using cast iron. Totally worth it in my opinion hopefully it holds up for a lot of years to come. ... show more

Wife got one of these as a gift from work, I laughed when she told me what the value was ($250 for the big one). Then I used it. I am writing this as I purchased a second pan in blue. These things are a pleasure to cook with and doing a side by side comparison to my favorite Lodge Logic pan sealed the deal and I bought our second one of these the next day. It is certainly not the same as the other cast irons it is far better and puts the brown on your food in an impressive way. Those people giving this one star just don't know what they are doing. PRE HEAT! Add fat, cook, let cool, rinse with hot water, scrub with silicone (if needed), heat to remove water, dash of oil, wipe, store, and repeat every time. Worth every penny. ... show more

The pan is great in all aspects ... heating , cooking, cleaning. The only drawback may be the black enamel instead of white enamel. It is a little hard to see how things are browning, but the same as with a good cast iron pan. The colors are vibrant and really look good in the kitchen

I purchased this skillet after buying and returning multiple ceramic "non-stick" skillets. Those skillets were great at first, but ended up sticking really bad after 6 months to a year. I had purchased a Le Creuset black enamel deep saute pan (mainly for deep frying chicken) over a decade ago at the outlet in Woodburn. Recently I started to use it more for cooking, although the high sides were not great for most of what I was trying to do. I decided to give a skillet a try, even though the price is very high. I've had it now for a few months and I absolutely love it. It is very heavy, but I just remember to use both hands when lifting. The coating is not raw cast iron, so it can stick at times, however the sticking only lasts until the next cook. Every weekend I cook bacon in this, and then follow up with eggs. I use a metal spatula and never get sticking with the eggs. It's actually pretty amazing. The only downside to this pan is the weight, however I'm willing to overlook that. ... show more

I am giving four stars because I received this product broken. I had no issues getting a refund, but since I was unable to try it, I am concerned about its value for the price. I do not think I will buy a pan at this price again, as I did not cook once in it.

It's a beautiful piece that fits well in our collection. It's large enough to be an everyday pan and you just can't beat the performance of cast iron.
