I was heartened by the width cited in the product description, but it is a full inch shorter at the interior cooking surface at the base. That said, it is unquestionably a fine overall capacity for most requirements of a braise for up to 4 persons, and the construction, fit, and finish are in the top class. At its present price it is even possible to say one isn’t spoiling oneself, to use it for tasks whose criteria it greatly exceeds. It’s a fine instrument, of obviously infinite durability.
