I want to save other people the heartache of believing, per the description on Amazon and the product packaging itself, that this is a "casserole". In English, casseroles are baked in the oven. In French, they mean a pot or pan that can only be used on the stove. This cannot be used in the oven, only on the stove top. I needed a four-quart true casserole with ovenable lid and so I got this. When I studied the information, I realized it cannot be used in the oven, so I returned it. The price is low for Le Creuset, and as others have pointed out, they are not made in France, for the most part. This is a pretty stove top pot, only. Choose accordingly. ... show more

Not a practical size for stock pot cooking, a bit too short & wide. Flame color is loud. Enamel is fragile and will eventually chip. Not made in France. Made in Thailand. You might like it, but I don't especially for the rather steep price
