The slats on my metal bed frame are almost 7 inches apart. So I decided to get this bunkie board to reduce stress on my expensive mattress, that I want to preserve as long as possible. I wasn't feeling anything like sagging, but I didn't want to wait for trouble. I've avoided these sorts of boards because I think the mattress is supposed to breathe, and putting a wood board or even a sheet of plywood underneath, that I could have cut to size at Home Depot, would obstruct that. So I was happy to see this new tech bunkie board that has a honeycomb structure and air channels. I confirmed by feel that there is a honeycomb structure inside the cloth cover. The cover cannot be opened, but it seemed light and consistent with the pictures in the product description. For my queen bed there are two boards, one for the foot of the bed, one for the head, together they cover the whole area. Installation was just tipping the mattress up out of the way, laying down the two boards, and putting the mattress back down on them, a couple minutes with a helper to handle the heavy mattress. Sleeping on them, the mattress feels just as good as before, no sensation of lack of airflow. I am not sure if a solid board would feel different, but this one definitely feels fine. Maybe the mattress feels a little nicer even, or maybe it's my imagination that I have some new thing there so it's an improvement, but definitely no feeling of stiffness or less comfort. And it's light, which is good so I don't get dents in the hardwood floor from the legs of the bed. Now I'll forget it's there, but it will be making sure my mattress lasts as long as possible.

This support board made a bigger difference than I expected. It helped create a firmer, more even base and took away that uncomfortable sagging feeling that can make a mattress feel worn out before its time. Once it was in place, the bed felt noticeably more stable and supportive, especially through the middle where dips usually show up first. These seem pretty sturdy. Using on a kids bed and works well. Full size come in two long pieces that each fold in half in the middle. They are thinner that expected but still pretty firm feeling. Price might be slightly steep for me but it seems like decent enough quality to work its purpose. Fits a full size fine. Non slip backing on one side. Shipped quick. This is a great alternative to a box spring if you want to keep your bed low. May not work for all types of frames it may depend on the direction the bars are facing and how many and where they are placed.

The bunkie boards arrived promptly packaged in a cardboard box. There are two separate boards, and each of them is folded in half. Once you expand them out and lay them side by side, they cover a full-size bed perfectly. The surface has a rough texture that provides good traction for your mattress so there is no movement of the mattress on the boards once everything is placed correctly. The boards are designed for a load of up to 400lbs per board, so they are very good at supporting the mattress evenly and sturdily without any sag or other deformation. The boards are thin enough (less than half an inch) that they don't raise the bed to any noticeable extent. These boards are very well designed, easy to install and remove if needed, and do their job correctly. If you have an unsupportive bedframe or poorly designed slats that allow your mattress to sag and bed, this is the perfect solution to the problem. Very happy with this item.
