I'm one of those people who will attract every mosquito in the tri-state area. People don't take me to outdoor events just for my pleasant company. They take me because they won't need to deal with mosquitos. Meanwhile I'm trying to not die of Malaria or blood loss. I am now the doom of the mosquito realm. They speak of the devestation in whispers. Mosquito mother's tell their spawn to behave or the Great Zapper will come take them away. My neighbors are scared too. But that's probably because they saw me running around the backyard like I lost my mind.. I may possibly have been cackling and waving my new anti-bite weapon with great joy. So yes, it seems to work well. It's easy (and fun) to use. The battery seems to do fairly well. I like the design as the handle twists to be more compact and the wrist strap is great. Seems pretty good for the price. Overall, I like it.

This works for my mosquito and moth problem. Have not tried it yet on flies. The manual mode does not work. It is supposed to light up purple when manual button is pressed but it doesn't. I just turn it on auto when I hold it close to a moth on the wall or swing it on flying mosquito, then i turn it off. I do not find the manual mode useful or necessary.

Just got mine in today. GREAT product! It's lightweight and really does zap mosquitoes into oblivion! Someway somehow, at least one mosquito seems to get into my bedroom every night, and I was tired of trying to clap them and missing, and watching them do that disappearing trick where they fly into the distance and vanish. Decided to give this wand a try. I actually purchased this model and the older model that doesn't fold. Decided to use the non-folding model at home and take the folding model to work (I work outdoors). Works like a charm. It zaps loud and strong, with an obvious flash of light so you know the bug is history. Testing these, I became a mosquito racket Jedi, gracefully swinging my wand around as if dueling mosquitoes of the Empire, striking them down one by one. I liked this product so much that I decided to purchase two more for my relatives! There are only two improvements I can think of, on the off chance that the manufacturer reads reviews. One, a carrying bag would be nice. Just a slim little bag that it fits into for transport and protection would be great for the folding model, for traveling or camping and such. Two, it doesn't come with any cleaning brushes for getting rid of fried mosquito carcasses. I ended up using a fine paint brush and shaking them out, but a small bag and some sort of tool for cleaning would make this great product even better.

This product solves the issue of standard swatters which is needing to strike quick with precise aim. This one, the surface are is so large, you simply have wave the wand in the general direction of the insect and it will practically fly right into the zapper on its own. Plus you never need to whack anything with force to ensure its demise. This bug zapper charges quickly within a few hours and can be used a very long time before needing to recharge again. It can be used in always on mode for a continuous bug zapping spree, or on-demand mode to zap only when the button is pressed down. It also can be propped up to stand on it's own for passive bug blasting. So far, I have am 4 for 4 in mosquito take-downs and I must say it's very satisfying. The zapping noise is very loud, so if that's not your thing, then maybe it might not be for you. My only issue is I want one for every room. It's quite large... about the size of a squash racket, so carrying it on your person around the house is a bit arduous.

I had a racket shape bug zapper that recently just stopped working. As if emboldened by that, at least (1) fly per day has infiltrated my office space on a mission to taunt me with. I had to mount a very patient, and very cautious counterstrike with the now non-zapping racket, rolled paper, and bug spray which distracted me from tasks. Within minutes of its arrival, I had this unit powered on and free standing near the edge of my desk. I first heard the familiar annoying buzz of a fly followed moments later by an oh so satisfying electrical zap. THEN an extended sound & light show as the Fly tried to get free of the electric trap it had flown into, only to have its remnants scattered on my desk. Which I have to clear, but . . . WORTH IT! Less flowery summary: Excellent and effective functionality. Safe for reasonable humans. Noiseless when not assassinating insects. Brightness is subtle, but likely would be more prominent in a dark enclosed space.

They do work and certainly when they’re in the standing position with the light on, attract insects and kill them. However, the battery needs to be charged daily and if you’re using the lighted feature, it does not last very long. Also, when in the normal racket position, the swivel does not stay secure and allows the head portion to move. There should be a lock to make them more solid.
